Yeah we had missiles in Turkey, But that don't mean u can allow your sworn enemy to put theirs In right off the coast. Because at that point it's a desperate situation. Russia didn't wanna Nuculear war but they thought they could put extreme leverage on the US. Getting those missle out was one of the most important things done during the cold war. Kennedy was in a tough spot.
