That was a bad call too. What it shows is how important being able to review calls is. If they had replay then that would have been ruled a TD almost 100% of the time.

I wish they could review everything

And it was that very same play that got the ball rolling on the NFL eventually using instant replay a few seasons later.

Ehh, the first defender had moved him back a half yd or so before the 2nd defender came in and knocked the ball out. He called forward progress quickly but that's not as bad as the Saints/Rams call by any means.

I thought this was gonna be about the early 2000s playoff game between the 49ers and Giants. THAT game was so :sadcam: for the Giants. In terms of 49ers/Giants playoff games I thought that game would be more memorable to someone who wasn't a fan of ethier team :ld:

I'm a Giants fan so I have no issue with the call in OP :pachaha: The call in OP isn't nearly as controversial as a Tuck rule game for example, most people probably forgot about the 2012 NFCCG :heh:

Tuck rule was correctly called by the letter of the law. Not a good rule, but it was correct.

Based on the thread title I 100% was expecting this game…

That was a classic game.

I said noy including penalties or non-calls as that would obviously be right up there. I don't think that was even close to forward progress though.:manny:.

HS school ref said hold my beer

What's crazy to me is that the receiver even thought he could pick up the ball and run after an obviously complete pass. Makes me think that he knew the officials were on the take or the officials had been blowing calls all game.

tried to forget about this :mjcry:

Same here. Those 2 NFC title game losses to the Giants (90 and 11) are painful.

I would trade this call for the lucky ones we got against the Giants (02) and Packers (Rice fumble in 98) any day.

Also, some of those non-holding calls in the first loss to KC. Particularly the 3rd and long to Tyreek :mjcry:

Could also be good team discipline... instilled to follow through and not stop until you hear whistle
