Pelicans are apart of Louisiana culture and lore along with swamps, gators, catfish, crawfish etc. I don’t mind the pelicans name.

fukk that team all day but I actually get the Saints name tho. Louis Armstrong, Saints Go Marching in, second like type shyt. You right it ain’t got shyt to do with football, but I think they named them that in the same vein as the NO Jazz back in the day, repping they culture moreso than something that fit the sport itself. We know how they think up here in the A, if you look at from that perspective it makes sense. them nikkas almost as bad as NY’ers, they letting you know where they from every 5 minutes. So I could see them naming their teams shyt that is unique to they area.

I always thought Magic and Heat were odd team names. It's not Orlando Magicians, it's Orlando Magic.
