Would be nice to see the "strong Black woman" image back in Hip Hop again but that'll never happen

What's the point of having them?
I'm glad they showed their true colors, money and cacs will make them do that. That whole, I'm black, bohemian, Afro, Dread, Braid and ankh wearing shyt was nothing more than lies. They played us and themselves. I'm all for growth and change but can you at least keep it real?

I don't know whose the worst entertainer nowadays...

One one hand we have new and old black male rappers who made money from making albums dedicated to killing black men but got scary and quite when it was time to call out the homosexuality in Hip-Hop. Let's not forget that these negroes are wearing skirts too.

On the other you have female rappers and neo soul singers who made a career of keeping it real, Ms. I'm black and I'm proud, I keep my hair natural type of steeze. Fast forward to today and you see that they all threw their Afros, Braids and Dreads away for perms, wigs and extensions to like like white women while throwing their African mediation in the trash.

You know what, this shyt is long over due. It's only for so long fake people can pretend.

Stop looking up to athletes and entertainers...

...because they ain't got the answers.

Mainstream Rap will never again be a tool used again to teach the people. Does not matter if it's a male or female rapper...those days are gone and are never coming back.

Become a zombie like everyone else, the turn up is calling you brehs and brehettes.

Cool argument u just missed one area......The key word is "image." Eminem is a businessman not some crazy whiteboy...Rick Ross is a business man...Not a drug dealer....Nicki Minaj is a business woman...Not some crazy bird like she portrays. 2Pac was a good actor who portrayed the image of a thug so well that he pulled the wool over the eyes of many feeble minded people. All rappers have an image. My issue is that lack of a "strong Black woman" image in a genre oversaturated with booty popping and twerking. There should be a balance because it seems every woman associated with hip hop has to have some sort of "ghetto" birdess within their image and thats not a reality with all Black women.

Also....I believe that if someone came in the game with a coupla hit songs and a good album that was conscious and had a machine behind it....a bandwagon can happen. Never say never

I believe LBoogie not doing a follow-up to Miseducation was the death blow to aspiring female rappers (the Latifahs of the world) ever being viable in the mainstream market again:sadbron:

Bahamadia couldn't shine in this era..Social media would go in on her gap tooth and make that the center of her image the same way they've done Conseqence's teeth. Yet she was allowed to shine in an era when the hate wasn't as strong in pop culture.

That's a funny image for some reason.

It's been three weeks since you've been looking for your friend
The one you let hit it and never called you again
'Member when he told you he was 'bout the Benjamins
You act like you ain't hear him then gave him a little trim
To begin, how you think you really gon' pretend
Like you wasn't down then you called him again
Plus when you give it up so easy you ain't even fooling him
If you did it then, then you probably f*** again

Talking out your neck sayin' you're a Christian
A Muslim sleeping with the gin
Now that was the sin that did Jezebel in
Who you gon' tell when the repercussions spin
Showing off your ass 'cause you're thinking it's a trend
Girlfriend, let me break it down for you again
You know I only say it 'cause I'm truly genuine
Don't be a hardrock when you're really a gem
Babygirl, respect is just a minimum
nikkas f***ed up and you still defending them

Now Lauryn is only human
Don't think I haven't been through the same predicament

Let it sit inside your head like a million women in Philly, Penn.
It's silly when girls sell their soul because it's in
Look at where you be in hair weaves like Europeans
Fake nails done by Koreans
Come again
Come again, come again, come again, come again

I think anything is markletable with the right push and a few hot songs. Like Immortal Tech said, if there is a market for sh*t eating and piss porn then there's a market for anything. In 2010 I never Ever thought Kendrick would be as big as he is now....I had him pegged in underground limbo with Joey Badass, Glasses Malone and Big Krit. Enter Intescope and a co sign fro Dr Dre and BAM!......One of the top rappers in the game now.

You made his case for him. These nikkas haven't been the face of hip-hop for 2 DECADES

In todays current climate I'd have to reach...Maybe SticMan. maybe Curtis Sc00n, Maybe Immortal Technique, Maybe Tariq Nasheed( but he's not really associated with Hip Hop.) Before Love and Hip Hop I might have thrown Saigon in the "maybe" mix LOL.
