Nah. Nikkas like Nelly and Drake are popular and when the dust settles both sold millions, dropped some classic tracks but they just not in the discussion for GOAT MCs. He needed a Blackberry to drop a freestyle.... Which he still fumbled. They have their lane and made millions and fukked some bad woman so Im sure they happy with their legacies and both know they ain't in the conversation for elite MCs.

the funny thing is i think nelly wanted that recognition..i remember he kinda flipped out and was incredulous when he wasnt mentioned as a top rapper from the 00s decade

its also funny that i both gave nelly and drake the :camby: when they fumbled on their first attempt to see them get busy on freestyle

drake with the blackberry shyt; nelly in the basement with big tig when he didnt even come prepare to rhyme or nothing :smh:

Nelly comparisons don't work anymore man. Drake has been dominating music for a decade now, with next to no breaks or losses in terms of popularity. If anything he's getting more popular, which is insane.

To people 30 and younger, he's gonna be on a lot of their top 10s

For guys 35+, he won't be on many

I was never the biggest fan of his music, to be honest, a lot of it was trite, repetitive and uninspiring to me. But Drake can rap his ass off when he tries, and I respect his influence and impact. So he'd have to be in my top 30 simply because of what he meant to the culture.

Mad legendary rappers have ghostwriters. Del wrote a lot of Amerikka's Most Wanted and Cube is in my top 10 and one of the best MCs ever. DOC wrote for Snoop. LL wrote for Run DMC etc...I can't just wipe away nikkas whole discographies because they had a couple verses written for them over the course of their careers.

most of our legendary rappers didnt.. Like Biz had Kane. Ok cool. We look at Biz as an entertainer more than rapper.. a least I do. Same as Drake. I dont see the difference in the two really. And I loved Biz records. One in the same.

They did. But they also didn't try claim they were the best ever constantly etc like Drake has, try hide it etc and it wasnt just written for him, reference tracks arent just helping people out with lines etc.

The ghostwriting thing with Drake was never REALLY about the ghostwriting, it was just an extension of previously existing Drake-hate.... most people are smart enough to understand having a couple verses written for you =/= not writing hardly anything... drake’s credentials as a go-to writer for others in the industry kinda speaks for itself for anyone that wants to have an honest conversation...for all the cliche “Drake is the big bad commercial rap bad guy” stuff he gets, his pen is his biggest attribute ...the intellectually dishonest “let’s pretend Drake is Cardi B or Puff” stuff is meaningless hater talking points

say all that to agree with the post you made right before this one...the amount of minds that were legitimately changed cause of the QM shyt are negligible...the vast majority of people that would have him top 10 before, still will...the vast majority of people that didn’t, still wont
