jon b among the other 90s rnb acts is weak as fukk. evidenced by the fact that he never transcended into the 2000s. he was a novelty "blue eyed soul" act. :russell:

Dude's catalogue is extremely underrated and he never got his credit in the 2000s` because he was signed to beyonce`s daddy record label. His pops only had one thing on his mind and that was beyonce.:mjlol:

Add joe to the list as well. Underrated.:ehh:

the problem is that the bar is set pretty low for white "soul/rnb/urban" performers, compared to their black counterparts.

This is another reason why I feel like jt gets too much credit. It seems like black singers gotta be phenomenal to be on jt`s level or any other white singers` level even when they themselves isn't even phenomenal.

Not really. Black people who champion Bryson Tiller, Partynextdoor & Drake 24/7 suddenly become consumed entirely by vocal ability & stage performance when it comes to white artists. Nobody said JT is phenomenal, but if you're going to champion an artist over someone with a certified classic in their catalogue it only stands to reason said artist should have a classic them self.

Am I the only one totally not impressed by Timberlake...at all? I have enjoyed a few of his songs, but I can't get through any of his albums start to finish. 20/20

Experience
was boring as fukk. JT did what he needed to do, and worked with the right people to profit off of a sound/culture while being talented enough to be able

to pull it off. I find him to be boring and uninspiring. I get that he has the complexion connection, but I've never gotten the hype at all. A vapid shell

of an entertainer, IMO.

was it a certified classic bc of justins ability or timbos?

again, nobody is denying JT's solo albums, but to act like he wasn't carried by timberland is being ridiculous.
also, while breezy doesn't have one "classic" album, his singles combined surpassed jt a long time ago. in terms of sound/versatlitiy. plus, the fact that breezy was able to even rebound after the rihanna thing shows that his music is really undeniable. and he doesn't rely on one producer either...

Do you seriously think 'X' is comparable to FLSS quality or impact wise? No? Discussion over.

I don't champion Bryson tiller because he isn't a r&b artists. He's one of those new hybrid acts that's been appearing on the scene as of lately.

I don't really believe Chris Brown has a classic, but he has some good albums. The closest to a classic he has is his debut album. Chris Brown just doesn't have that go to producer like Timberlake.

Chris Brown is more talented than Timberlake.

Timberlake is too dependant on the timbaland and his production outshines jt on his own records.

Always thought Jc was the lead singer for some reason.

That's because JC was the lead singer. He sang more than Justin. "Gone" is the only song Justin sang both verses in.

Naw
You must think Kelly should have Beyonce spot

Nah bruh. This is not a Beyonce/Kelly situation case. JC had the male equivalent of Beyonce's voice. Justin is a better performer, but VOCALLY he was weak as shyt.

National anthem acapella with JC singing lead

National anthem acapella of Justin singing by himself :mjlol:

does chris brown hav an album as good as futuresex..?
no.

they are both genuinely talented and hard workers.

problem is chris is less professional and has poorer integrity due to bad management or parenting. imagine if michael Jackson's dad was his dad tho lol

Chris Brown is as much of a hybrid as Bryson. He's said himself that he wanted to be a rapper, but his mother convinced him to stick with singing. Aside from dancing, one could argue that CB is mediocre. Outside of his dancing, what else is Chris Brown good at that puts him over JT?

Brown is dependent on writers and producers too. He may not have a go-to, but he's still a product of top great production and writing.
