When you have two legends like Mary and Mariah, there are no winners and losers. They don’t compete. They would just be blessing the fans with decades of classics. No true fan would ever put these two up against each other. You can't put greatness up against greatness. This ain't Jadakiss vs Jim Jones type sh*t, lol. We know what's up in that "battle".

That's cool, but even after she started doing remixes nshyt, she was also still doing songs that resonated more on the pop charts than they did with the crowd that would be in a live environment at a Verzuz. And then when you add the onstage aspect (which as evidenced by the Lox/Dipset battle) I don't Mariah's taking it in that aspect either... the math maths, let's not let Billboard chart positions cloud what would actually happen on that stage.

I think the whole "Pop" aspect of her career is clouding judgement on both sides. Mariah clearly has 20 joints that would resonate in a Verzuz environment. Doesn't mean, she would beat Mary, but she definitely has 20 songs that would be competitive.
This is one of the reasons why we are more likely to get a Usher vs. Justin Timberlake Verzuz than an Usher vs. Ginuwine Verzuz. There's this whole school of thought that view Usher as too big to do a Verzuz against Ginuwine when in actuality, it makes more sense (well worth it to settle the score of which version of "I Need A Girl" was better). There's fans that would write Usher off because of the Pop success while Ginuwine was purely R&B. There's others that would see Usher getting an automatic W because of Confessions when in actuality Ginuwine definitely has joints that could go up against any of those songs regardless of Confessions having 5 massive singles on the Pop charts.

Yeah...Mariah has only sold like 300 million records or sumn stupid like that...a lot of which were powered by R&B-centered, Verzuz type singles...so yeah, Mary is definitely washing her. Smh. Not to mention, if we talking about them at their primes, it's insulting to Mariah to even compare Mary to her as a singer. Jadakiss got nigs thinking the underdog/grittier blue collar nigs gon pull off the W every time, lol.
