Pippen wasnt even Rudy Gay status in the 90s why would he be Rudy Gay status in a watered down league![]()
The mind-numbing ignorance regarding basketball history kills me sometimes.
How the hell you comparing the 1990s to the 2010s and calling the current era a "watered down league"?

Pippen had the benefits of SIX expansion teams in his era. Two in 1988, two in 1989, two in 1995. There's only been ONE expansion team in the NBA in the last 20 years, and that was way back in 2002.
So how the hell did the current era get watered down? All the watering down was in Pippen's era, not now.
On top of that, the guys playing in Pippen's era grew up in the 1970s, when bball was at an all-time low. It took years to rebound from the dredges of the 1970s. The pool of talent prepping for basketball in America wasn't nearly as big then as it became in the late 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.
On top of that, the pool of foreign talent is WAY bigger now. There was hardly any talent coming from overseas back then, now you got like 30% of the league foreign, making the talent pool even deeper.
But go ahead, make a rational argument how the league got "watered down" when there's the exact same number of teams and a way bigger talent pool.
