same as there won't be a Wu-Tang again.. it's like a generation thing...

Wu-Tang came in the game with that fresh energy, then when Cam made his comeback and brought Dipset with him it was a fresh energy, now for the kids that are 14/15 might feel about the A$AP Mob the way many of us felt about Dipset when i was that age or how my cousin and thousands/millions felt about Wu-Tang when they exploded onto the scene.

We are so "blessed" to have seen dipset in their prime. All those beats, those classic 80's samples, and camrons multis :wow:

To answer your question: no, all these sets, clicks, mobs, gangs will never reach dipset status.

There will never be groups again... just labels... nikkas have come to the point now where their egos won't allow them to be on equal footing with another artist. Dipset started on some all for one one for all group shyt and fell apart for this exact reason. Byrd Gang, Purple City Byrd Gang, 730 Dips, Skull Gang, Vampire Gang... nikkas fell way out of rank and the whole movement died because of it. I think the real issue was they were not able to parlay their talents into commercial success.

So you have one dude who is the CEO of a label, then he signs a bunch of artists, and each of them are the CEOs of their own labels, with maybe 1-2 artists under them. Everyone has their own "imprint". Whether they actually sell records is another story. Rap went from being a team sport to a pyramid scheme.

Dipset was not built to last. Them nikkas egos was out of control. Especially Jim.

Cam put him on. Yet the way he act you would think its the other way around. nikka started as a music video director for crying out loud :heh:

I hate how nikkas make it seem like Cam was just a loyal nikka like fif... nikka had nikkas under contract. They were his employees... and they acted how a nikka is supposed to act when their fukking Boss disappears.

just wish the run was a little longer, by 05 it was already starting to dissolve

DI 2 was :flabbynsick: , it sounded like it was put together in a week and flopped. i think that played a much bigger role in the group breaking up than people think.

DI 2 wasn't as good as the first one, but by the time that shyt dropped, Purple Haze FINALLY dropped.

The Roc breaking up messed with Cam's momentum cuz it kept pushing his record back, and then they all started going independent, so while Dip fans could get their shyt all the time, it wasn't being pushed the same way when Dame was co-signing. The only one that survived that initially were Juelz and Jim

and don't get me started on Killa Season :smh:

Talent wise I'd definitely say TDE/Black Hippy are better than dipset.
But in terms of image and "coolness" I don't think Dipset will be matched.

If you could name the top 5 Dips projects, what would they be? :mjpls:

just albums?

1. Diplomatic Immunity
2. Purple Haze
3. From Me To U
4. Come Home With Me
5. Hustler's P.O.M.E.

mixtapes?

1. Diplomats Vol. 2
2. M.O.B. Volume 1
3. Diplomats Vol. 1
4. Writer's Block 1
5. Public Enemy #1

and that shyt was tough to sift down to just 5. You need a @Wacky D top 50 for Dipset mixtapes
