There will never be groups again... just labels... nikkas have come to the point now where their egos won't allow them to be on equal footing with another artist. Dipset started on some all for one one for all group shyt and fell apart for this exact reason. Byrd Gang, Purple City Byrd Gang, 730 Dips, Skull Gang, Vampire Gang... nikkas fell way out of rank and the whole movement died because of it. I think the real issue was they were not able to parlay their talents into commercial success.
So you have one dude who is the CEO of a label, then he signs a bunch of artists, and each of them are the CEOs of their own labels, with maybe 1-2 artists under them. Everyone has their own "imprint". Whether they actually sell records is another story. Rap went from being a team sport to a pyramid scheme.
