Anyone hating on Dipset does not like life. When they were in their prime, it was not music- it was a movement.

Talent wise I'd definitely say TDE/Black Hippy are better than dipset.
But in terms of image and "coolness" I don't think Dipset will be matched.

:lawd: Sh*t had killers (REAL killers) wearin' pink. They were rolling around West Side of Chicago with jewelry on and cars out like it was Six Flags :wow:

The only movement moving.

Trendsetters....introduced a mass wave to rap. nikkas was permanently smug. If Cam rhymes had a smilie it would be :jawalrus:

well, they really weren't a group. more like a crew.

but as for the question at hand....no. with the way the industry is now, I don't see too many genuinely great artists being let into the game on that level. certainly not a whole crew full of them. the game now is "let me put out this average artist and promote him as an instant legend".

hip-hop is basically dead now. I don't see many more legendary acts coming out anymore unless this chit goes back underground or the rap industry does some sort of overhaul. and it needs to happen fast, because the kids are being taught bullchit, and when they eventually pick up a mic, they are gonna make bullchit and assume that its sugar.

Anyone hating on Dipset does not like life. When they were in their prime, it was not music- it was a movement.

you know what? looking back on it, I say forget a movement.

DIPSET WAS A LIFESTYLE!!

and if I was to break it down into specifics like that, then no we probably wont see another at all.

and that shyt was tough to sift down to just 5. You need a @Wacky D top 50 for Dipset mixtapes

YOU F*CKIN RIGHT!!!

36 chambers where u had more then 2 mc's that could actually rhyme

and real talk dipset imo were better then wu tang imo

matter fact wacky im going to make a dipset vs wu tang thread get in there now !!!!!!!!!! so we can debate that.

There will never be groups again... just labels... nikkas have come to the point now where their egos won't allow them to be on equal footing with another artist. Dipset started on some all for one one for all group shyt and fell apart for this exact reason. Byrd Gang, Purple City Byrd Gang, 730 Dips, Skull Gang, Vampire Gang... nikkas fell way out of rank and the whole movement died because of it. I think the real issue was they were not able to parlay their talents into commercial success.

So you have one dude who is the CEO of a label, then he signs a bunch of artists, and each of them are the CEOs of their own labels, with maybe 1-2 artists under them. Everyone has their own "imprint". Whether they actually sell records is another story. Rap went from being a team sport to a pyramid scheme.

Co-sign the bolded.

You signed to one nikka that signed to another nikka
That's signed to three nikkas
