So would you leg lock the fat out of them? Does fat tap out? This is interesting

:ohhh:
They'd never Get fat in the first place funny man. It takes a lot of effort to make a kid fat. All they do is bounce off the damn walls. You gotta be overfeeding them plus encouraging them to not move for this to happen which goes against their nature

iPhone/iPad/COD parents.

Get them Out the House!

No because i'm not overweight, infact i've been called too skinny + I don't want my children to be ridiculed and have a hampered quality of living by being overweight.

I'd try to be nice about it and maybe sign them up for sports or physical activities if I notice they are getting big but I wouldn't just be buying them treats and candy all the time neither.

depending on the age of the child it's on the parent so 'let' goes out of the window

No. And it starts with healthy eating at home from a young age. People give their children kiddie food (pizza, nuggets, Mac and cheese, etc) and they don’t want to eat the healthy stuff. It’s more difficult to get them to start eating healthy around age 9/10 than it is to have a healthy lifestyle. You also need to be careful who you allow to care for your children. I know for a fact my mother would allow my kids to eat fast food, and tell them to keep it a secret. She does it with my niece and nephew.

There’s a lot that contributes to a persons weight. Especially with kids it’s not as simple as telling them eat less and work more.

With growth spurts, hormones, genetics, mental/emotional health, adolescents and a bunch of other stuff a kids size/weight can be up and down.

I think for kids it’s best to lead a healthy lifestyle by example and not get so caught up in their weight or appearance.

My 17 year old daughter was severely underweight this time last year. No eating disorder just bad/unhealthy eating habits. It’s been hard to navigate getting her to eat more food without messing up her self esteem and confidence. She’s doing a bit better now, but at times i still literally have to remind her to eat.

My 12 year old son on the other hand has been chubby his entire life. He’s always been very active, plays soccer and football. Goes on walk/runs with me, but was just chubby still. Would get comments from the doctor about losing weight.

Over the last six months or so he just randomly hit a growth spurt and now he’s all tall and kinda swole for his age.

We are a relatively healthy family. We don’t eat all kale and tofu, but i cook most nights and i try to keep it somewhat healthy.

The main point i’m trying to make here is that under the same conditions i have two kids on very opposites sides of the subject. As a parent if you are worried about your kids weight, the best thing to do is to concentrate on health. Their weight is gonna fluctuate throughout their childhood. The goal should just be to make sure they are equipped with healthy habits and healthy self esteem/self worth for when they are adults.

if I had children, I would do all I could to encourage them to be active and find a sport/activity they like that keeps them active.
This, and to take it a step further i do the activity stuff with her to keep myself in shape too. I know too many parents that just try to lecture their kids into being healthy as if they don't know they fat or some shyt.
Nah, you gotta participate in their health. just like you do with their homework. People aren't ignorant of what they need to do, they know they should eat healthy ,exercise and study they just not motivated.
Easy way to motivate is to participate.

Ain’t nothing wrong with that tho. Kids, especially kindergartners be burning that shyt with all the running and jumping all of the dam house.

Just gotta keep them active. I grew up eating cup noodles, Kraft Mac and cheese, chips and all that but pops kept me in sports.

The big question is are the parents overweight or obese because if they are there's a likelihood of them being just as big (due to numerous factors besides food obviously) as they hit their mid-late teens and early 20s.

Luckily for young people they can loose weight quicker and easier just in time before they hit their mid-late 30s. So even if they are fat in their late teens and early-mid 20s it's not over for them yet and still have a chance to shead off the weight.
