Ive seen Aaliyah sing on various clips. She could sing. Beyonce just has a stronger voice. Like most people with an agenda, you're zoning in on the worst clip of Aaliyah, ignoring the fact that Aaliyah was 18-21 with minimal voice training & Beyonce had 10 years to perfect hers, which was stronger to begin with.

In your world, Beyonce was already a huge solo superstar in 2002 and everybody knew she would sell 10 million albums on her debut.
In my world, Beyonce was the lead singer of a successful group that everybody knew she wanted to leave but, nobody was sure she could do it alone.
I was simply drawing comparisons. You're an exec at Columbia in 2002 & its a delicate situation. You have this attractive, charismatic singer with loads of talent. If her album soars, she's a star & everybody gets promoted. If her album flops, she's the biggest dumbass in the music industry for breaking up her successful group. So what do you do? You put the hottest rapper at the time on her first single & the hottest reggae artist at the time on her second.

Then you give her a role on the Austin Powers flick. Then you make her the face of Pepsi. Meanwhile the other girl singers had none of that on their debuts. You seem to think that's purely coincidentalit's comical to me that you think she wasn't pushed.
@ "giving" her roles in major motion pictures and just "making" her the face of Pepsi...like that's some run of the mill promotional stuff labels can just pull out of their ass to push random artists at their digression...if a label contacted pespico on some "hey why don't you pay my artist, random bum rnb bytch, a couple mil to be the face of your flagship product" shyt they'd be laughed at...she scored those huge looks because she was ALREADY A fukkING STAR...other female acts didn't have the same shyt (getting paid millions of dollars for endorsements and movie roles or getting Hov to give them verses anytime she asked) because they didn't have the clout...you got the game backwards, those are the benefits of being a star...not how you make a star...... there was never any confusion as to who the face of Destiny's Child was...that she was gonna go solo and pull a Diana Ross/Michael Jackson was a forgone conclusion years before it actually happened because she clearly had transcendent star power...her debut was highly anticipated and kind of a big deal

Most of those cases the females got equal camera time and were made to look as equals...destiny child wuz built around beyonce...not that that's wrong,happens all the time...she wuz the biggest talent out the group but its safe to say that wuz known at the formation of the group,and whether she wuz or not bein matthew knowles daughter its safe to say the group wuz made to be backup to showcase beyonce...tboz had a true standout voice yet they stood her next to sexy azz Chili and Lisa Lefteye who had the standout personality over Tboz....always wondered why Tboz wuznt pushed as a solo act
Aaliyah was an angel that put out nice, smooth beautiful music. But she ain't fukking with Beyonce. Whether she was alive or not, Beyonce was gonna blow. Beyonce sings better, performs better, and has become an icon on a level that I doubt Aaliyah would have ever reached. And even though I love Aaliyah, if we are gonna talk about looks, Beyonce wins that battle. As sexy as Aaliyah was, I always thought she was overrated looks wise.
