Not in this life. You spend more than $10 doing most things. No one (poor or middle class) should be asking for a 15k ring, but 5k and under allows for some beautiful jewelry at an attainable price.

I always thought the onus was on the man to find a ring that he thought would be just right to propose with.
Me personally,I wouldn't feel comfortable proposing with a 10 dollar ring even if we know what we got in each other.
