I've been looking into these heavy lately.

- It is much cheaper. You can get a good sized home for like $50K. A "mansion" would run you around $160K
- It is more durable. Conventional houses are framed with wood. This is steel specifically designed to withstand shipping conditions and high winds.
- They can last 20+ years w/o issue. And if you treat it for rust, it can last twice as long.
- You can move it
- Easier construction. House can be completed in like 1-2 months.

Now you have to deal with limited layout plans and a boxy design. And you have to do the insulation just right since it's metal/steel

I would! They've been doing some wild shyt with houses. I saw a video on shotgun homes.

Read an article on this dude and his wife that built their house on a bunch of 55 gallon drums and a platform and it just floated in the water. They would move the house short distances. When it came time to pay real estate taxes, they told the county to kick rocks and didn't have to pay a dime. Turns out, they actually fell under the DMV and their state didn't have personal property tax on motor vehicles which the law said their house fit the description of :russ:

Yes, for a couple of reasons. I link environmental consciousness with my spirituality, I believe I should have a minimum footprint as duty to my Lord and nature/planet as a whole.

I am anti consumerism. As a black man it is one of my peeves that our culture is about excess. Or that many of our conveniences are detrimental to The earth.

I'm an old school Hip Hop head and I recycle like it's a religion.

:jbhmm: These property taxes are getting crazy around KC. I seen parts of the city where they've been going up 15-20% a year on some bullshyt, even people getting forced to sell because rates are so high.
