To be honest I dunno if I could but that chick I've seen recently made me ponder the question.

:laff: @Ed MOTHEREFFING G negging me for this thread. What's so disgusting about it? They're still people at the end of the day. I mean, I get why some people might be grossed out but they're still people. I had a good friend growing up that was disabled. I felt bad for him cause he did get shytted on often.
Quite the contrary, its not about the people being disgusting its the fact that you're making a joke out of them like they're a sideshow. You know the nature of this thread. Totally classless.

I'm not making a joke out of anyone. I'm asking a serious question. There's a lot of prejudice out there. I think most people wouldn't or would question themselves about going out with someone who is down syndrome.

Its just the way of the world. Being with someone who's down syndrome doesn't mean that if you have kids they will turn out that way but a lot of people assume that. I would never poke fun at people with disabilities.

What? No! Not because I feel like they are any less than me, but because I'd feel like I was taking advantage of them! Down's syndrome causes intellectual issues... and I want an adult who can take full responsibility for his judgement and his behavior at all times. It'd be like, a guy with Down's might act inappropriately or be ignorant about stuff, and I wouldn't be able to confront his behavior... It just wouldn't work, if I had to constantly take it easy on him. I wouldn't be confortable.

I really wanted to date this girl who was:
-Depressed and on meds
-Anger issues
-Wore corrective glasses for one crossed and another wandering eye
-found a lot of curriculum work difficult, while I found it to be middle school level steeze
-Severly socially stunted

When i say really wanted to, I mean I REALLY wanted to. This girl wasn't even a looker, per se. But she was when it came down to it one of the sweetest people, had charming, corny jokes, a considerably slamming body (saw the t*ts :ohlawd: and the ass was RIGHT) and she happened to be as big a dork as me. There would have been a severe mismatch with her looks vs mine (she was also 5'10 to my 5'7) to the point we likely would be a laughingstock. I was ready to make that move, though.:mjcry: Obviously this has nothing to do with Downs, but I can envision *possible* relationships with challenged people, as they can turn out to be lifes gems. Had life not made it's statement and made it difficult to see each other, I would have thrown my hat into that ring.:manny:

It'd be like, a guy with Down's might act inappropriately or have difficult understanding stuff, and I wouldn't be able to confront his behavior, I'd have to make concessions... It just wouldn't work!

You're a lady? :ohhh: I did not know that!

That sounds interesting.

It is difficult though to see someone with disabilities by society's standards. People are afraid of being judged but if it makes sense, sometimes you have to go for it.

Trust me, I thought about it a lot. And I knew if I did take that plunge it wouldn't last. We went everywhere together for a few weeks, even a renaissance fair. I Imagined my friends and just strangers CLOWNING me and talking bad about her. But I was ok with that cause she legit made me happy. We didn't get sexual or anything, but she got my corny jokes, I got hers, and it was a wrap.:wow: Like I said she also wasn't much to look at, but I wanted to bang her back out like nobodies business. She had me going in circles.

I still miss that girl sometimes. Only been apart for a year.
