FF8 + Obscur 33 - Tetra Card system, implimented, FF8 characters within the battle system of Obscur with that already piff sound track and story? Gangbusters.
Front Mission + Metal Max - Instead of tanks, Wanzers. Games like Zone of the Enders/FUGA, heck even Titanfall got the player reliant on the choice of motorized armor solely, but with the Metal Max series, your tank fought along side you, was integral to traveling the map properly lest you get chewed up on foot and you + Tank could work in tandem rather than have you just control it and live/die by it's defences. Plus I'd be lying if I said gunning down 3-4 PVP'ers and then jumping off a building into a mech that caught me and plugged me into the machine wasn't an insane thrill the first time I played Titanfall.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms + Sleeper Citizen - Excellent story in ROTK but the gameplay/UI is heavily outdated and could actually pull a new(er) audience with a streamlined interface like that of Sleeper Citizen. Visual novel ish, choices based game in which you could easier plow through the dynasties without just looking at endless bland maps and numbers that only the hardest (pause) of DnD nerds would find comforting.
