Matriarchy has nearly destroyed the black community in America. This is an observation from a an American born African/West Indian from a two parent household. White supremacy has made it so the man has become secondary in the equation with government assistance and other benefits for single mothers. The destruction of the black family systematically leads back to slavery when families were broken apart and sold to others.
It would probably be more beneficial to others, since they have properly established patriarchies that were able to lay groundwork for progressive socities past social norms...but honestly as a black man, matriarchy has been a weakness exploited by our enemies.

In Africa there are a lot of traditional Matriarchal societies... Kemet for example was matriarchal to an extent.

Considering the lack of fathers in the home of most young black men for the past 2 or 3 generations I'd say most black people already live (on a micro-scale) in a matriarchy.
