Would you rather be a billionaire in 1917 or making 100k a year in 2017?:

100k a year is enough to live decent.

I can use that cash for school and have two incomes
:scust:Dudes dying from polio during the early 1900s to enjoy life, plus I sort of have this black thing going on with my skin so yeah......

I'll take the 100k and just survive in America vs being a billionaire and having those before civil rights problems:patrice:.

You can buy lots of property. :troll:

Nobody ain't gonna try to kill for riches:troll:

Let's act like the Tulsa race riot ain't never happened. :troll:

That is the problem with some of us, everything needs to be ready made.

With 1 billion dollars in 1917, you would have enough money to go to an area on the continent that isn't hostile with a team of doctors. With concern over your health, the first thing you would do is build a medical clinic. The second thing you would do is pay the doctors to pass on their knowledge to the people in the community. If you're worried about security, hire a defence force and again have them pass their knowledge on.

You're worried about tyranny in the other parts of Africa, give people an incentive to be at peace. With wars on the horizon, things like coal and iron had a value. You get the people to acknowledge their resources by paying for it and you use that as a springboard to bind them in agreements that make war the least lucrative option.
There is no problem unless you consider progress a bad thing. It took 100 years AND trillions of dollars just to get where we at now. You're not getting anywhere close to this level quality life if you subtract the 100 years bruh :dead:

Living in 2017 >>>>> Living in 1917 with 1 trillion dollars. Money is everything until you trip over a rusty nail and realize the best treatment is for that is to have your whole foot cut off. Till your balls tie up in a knot and end up catching gangrene. Till you wanna get jiggy with it and realize recorded music doesn't exist yet..till you realize money ain't gonna solve cultural differences...till you realize there's no roads or and the nearest city is 4 days on horseback...hope you like 100 degree weather year round with no ac. Hope you like bugs cuz the only pesticide you have is also a human chemical weapon. Carry all your books with you, there's only 3 libraries in the whole continent..Hope you like all those probs to go with that money you ain't gonna see past 55 if you're lucky :hubie:

This thread is hilarious and depressing.

For one, 100k is UPPER MIDDLE CLASS in America right now :mjlol: You don't even get your own parking spot in some areas with that kind of income.

But honestly, I don't even think some of yal can even comprehend what a billion dollars actually is and the immediate impact that holding that wealth has on the world. Especially back then.

Lets just take a step back - what if you decided "I want to monopolize flight as a means of transportation :ehh:"

....

You just took over the world. Just like that. You control the flow of information, goods, PEOPLE. And get paid for it :wow: by governments, corporations, and even the kids that worked hard all week to save up enough to visit grandma. That's what a billion could do back then. That's what happened with the newspapers and the stranglehold over the media has only gradually let up in the past 10 years or so because of the internet variable.

shyt, most people can't even name a current billionaire that didn't go out of their way to put themselves all in the media. And yal worried about getting shot? :wow: Your broke ass could get shot today by some weirdo in a movie theater. Who got the factories for the gun production though? :wow:

I would be a king. shyt, I might even get my Black Panther on too :mjlol:

The OP didn't say anything about not making any other income beside the yearly 100k

if you wanna be lazy thinking 100k isn't enough to get by then whose fault is that?
Dude i would take the 100k im not sure what you are talking about. 100k is alot of money in most places imo.
