No one knows overseas players unless they're former NBA players (Stephon Marbury), future NBA players (Tony Kukoc) or were popular in College (Jimmer Freddette).

NBA has better status and I presume lower taxes than a lot of those Euro or Asian nations, so you would probably take home more money.
also being a bench player who played in the NBA, you probably have better opportunities for higher paid coaching jobs at the high school or college level in the future..or maybe even in the NBA.

plus if p*ssy is what you're after, being NBA status can get you that..bench or no bench. we saw that guy who faked that he was a 2nd round NBA draft pick for the Jazz

ride the bench in the NBA. By far better social life, friendlier, less taxes (in some cases also cheaper), less pressure and hostility from media and fans, easier to live, better facilities, more resources, better transportation (private planes), and more food variety.

Most NBA players that are permanent bench are making less than a mil a yr, while being an overseas superstar is gonna get you a lot endorsements on top of the salary.

A bench player means can't be any sort of on or off the field distraction or his ass is getting traded. Bench players can be traded with the swiftness and be labeled as a salary dump whenever a juicy trade crops up.

Fan bases can love you one day, but then the next completely forget your contributions when a better player comes along, like Noel on the sixers.

But If he's playing in China or some other overseas league he can be worshiped as a legend, statues and everything.

Sure the status is fleeting, but depending on the relationships you make it can last quite a while after you retire. Nobodies gonna be treating you like a star, but when your retired at 45 back here in the States, who is gonna have the easier time getting access to all star weekend events with their teenage son, the former role player who's made friends with stars and front office folks over the years or the guy who was a star in Croatia ten years ago?
