why would I want to be a black man living in the middle of the crack era and mass incarceration

I was in the Marine Corps that year and stationed in California.

Greatest period of time in my entire life.

Got money. NO bills. Could go ANYWHERE/study anything on the globe for cheap/free. Women were literally throwing themselves at me. Had access to mad weapons.

Best physical/mental condition I've ever been in.

My mom hadn't yet gone into kidney failure and my little brother was still alive.

Those of us who lived it, remember it a lot differently than those of you who weren't even born yet.

I'd gladly go back if I could.

- affordable housing, rural and commercial land - In 2019 it's nowhere near affordable at all, as a start you ain't got no chance the big wigs got their roots in the properties

- Normal people

-Socially awkward weirdoes wouldn't have their opinions posted for many to see, unless you was on a closed forum that noone cared about

- Weak feminist presence

- No Internet famous clowns, your either famous based on talent, sport, invention, politics, entertainment and etc.

- Approachable women

- No Fake asses

- You can solve issues easily and quicker doing applications through phones, than doing DIY online consuming your time.

- Cut Off people forever without hearing of them or seeing them

- Lax Airport security

- No tracking devices

- Business Grants without making a super detailed plan to a potential investor

I remember going to NYC every summer and pops used to have the strap and my cousin used to have like an ounce of good on him :dwillhuh:

I don't think people really understand how easy it was to fly back then. nikkaz used to scalp plane tickets :deadrose:

Man people hate life now. Everyone seems depressed

I was only 1 in 91, so I’d rather live in today’s world.

2019 for the technology, 1991 for the culture/feeling. :wow:
i don't even feel like I'm really missing much from today if I go back to early 90's. I had internet doin the exact same shyt i'm doin now :yeshrug: playin video games and bullshytting on message boards. Most of consumer technology now are just time wasters. Advancements in technology to make it easier to waste your life away.
Music was better, social life was better. you actually wanted to go outside and see your people. now everybody just stays home and looks at everyone's life through a screen. The quality of life has drastically deteriorated as well

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
91 was the crack epedemic. That means NYC would have over 2,000 homicides.

Nope. As good as people were back then I do know black people had a rough life back then and I rather live in 2019 even though it seems as if black folks went from PTSD to just being goofys.

At least I can wear a nice watch now and not get mugged.

1991 as a in shape College educated 30 yr career minded black man with no kids?

:banderas:

You would have had 70k plus starting salary in '91 cost of living. You could own 2 houses

Imagine a time before Mexican immigrants flooded America?

Where coastal cities had legit surreal experiences for dirt cheap cost of living? Buying a NYC brownstone for $1 or a house in NW DC for under 50k?

Where food and living expenses were dirt cheap?

Where jobs were plentiful?

Where pretty women were level headed and respected you if you didnt simp?

Where fame equalled talent and you actually had to have skill to get long term money?

Where entertainment was more than fukkery?

Where cartoons were the stuff of legend?

People in that era had the best financial opportunities if they were focused on wealth and not get caught up in the street life. That opportunity can never come to America ever again.

Real talk I know of a dude way back in the 90's and pre 9/11 who had a criminal record got deported 3 times from Arizona back to England for overstaying his visa and doing criminal activity though he served a lot of time in Arizona before he got deported for the latter time, the dude is banned for life from entering the U.S. There where dudes back then also smuggling drugs on their person without getting caught, doing that nowadays is virtually impossible.
