91' on mines. Bout to cop an 8 Ball leather or a loud colored throwback Pelle leather to go with Jordan 6 infrareds just to restore the feeling. :ahh:And no, you can't re-experience 91' through movies and music if you didn't live through it. :usure: The feeling in the air back then was priceless. :ohlawd:I was 8, living in the heart of the trenches in the Bay. :birdman: San Francisco, CA, Lakeview district. Real Baydestrians know what it is. :lawd:And it wasn't as bad as the media makes it out to be. :ufdup:Yeah, crack was bad and there were hella murkings in the hood back then, but most people in the hood were just normal folks. People were more laid back back then across the board. No social media to judge everyone you've known your whole life since preschool. No cellphones. The culture was loud and vibrant, gear was fresh and colorful and nikkas wasn't trying to dress like cacs. Back then, you had to know how to dance forreal if you were going to a party or function. Hip Hop and R&B was classic. Nowadays, shyt is just depressing. Everybody is just so judgemental and insecure trying to stunt and be an imaginary player or tear the next man/woman down using passive aggressive technology and social media tactics. :camby:

1991, everything was better from food, clothes, music, sports, entertainment and the overall vibe throughout the 90s was just :wow:. Nowadays tho :hhh:.

agree on everything, except for the food. food today is on another level. the shyt people are doing with food now and the variety and options out there are better than its probably ever been. its been more or less perfected and become much more of an experience, instead of something people simply had to do. i dont remember too many people traveling across the world for food in the early 90s , very select enthusiasts. where as now so many people are into food as a passion, that its not uncommon

the mass produced, easy shyt - like fast food, soda, candy, etc.. might have been better, but im not even sure. i think the shift to using HFCS and all sorts of cheap garbage had already happened by that point. McDonalds menu was way more live though :russ:

i was a kid in 91 but old enough to remember it very well. i feel music, while better than today, wasnt that great compared to just 2 short years later. there was a huge shift and page turning with fashion and music going into 93...where as 91 was almost like we were still in the 1980s

the vibe back then was different though :mjcry: just going out into the neighborhood getting into trouble. being outside all the time. there werent a million and one unproductive, toxic things competeting for your attention...only just a few :russ: the trickle down effects of crack (and what led to that) were felt everywhere, but if you werent in the middle of the most effected areas, i feel like life was much more managable for people than it is today. and im not just talking about money

Be an adult in 1991 or a kid in 1991? or teen?

id go with a teen in 91 so id be hitting the work force during the first internet boom. you guys all think STEM pays well know... you werent competeting with all of India and the entire world for coding jobs in 97. then shortly came the web 1.0 craze and while some people lost their shirts, people were caking.

i had a paid internship as a teenager at the end of the 90s coding in a scripting language thats all but dead now, and i was getting $20 an hour. and this was a part time internship. even at like 18 hours a week, living at home it was more $ than i knew what to do with. if i were only 5-6 years older, going into SE or something at that time...id probably be retired now

worth noting at that time if you were into any of that shyt you were either considered a weirdo or a trouble maker. those were the only types who were really figuring out how the ins and outs of computing back in the 90s...at least before the advent of AOL, etc..

Based on the poll it might be time for us to admit that technology has improved the world, but hasn’t necessarily made society a better place(if anything a lot of people prefer the way life was when it wasn’t such an integral part of our daily lives).

I’d be interested in seeing the stats for how depression, relationships, obesity/health and satisfaction with life was back in the 90’s versus what it is now.

- affordable housing, rural and commercial land - In 2019 it's nowhere near affordable at all, as a start you ain't got no chance the big wigs got their roots in the properties

- Normal people

-Socially awkward weirdoes wouldn't have their opinions posted for many to see, unless you was on a closed forum that noone cared about

- Weak feminist presence

- No Internet famous clowns, your either famous based on talent, sport, invention, politics, entertainment and etc.

- Approachable women

- No Fake asses

- You can solve issues easily and quicker doing applications through phones, than doing DIY online consuming your time.

- Cut Off people forever without hearing of them or seeing them

- Lax Airport security

- No tracking devices

- Business Grants without making a super detailed plan to a potential investor

:blessed: I legit hate the way society and life is now. It’s a strange world we’re living in these days.

Look at this slide show:

Removed: Photographer Removes Phones From His Photos To Show How Terribly Addicted We’ve Become

:dwillhuh:
I barely use my phone on the road unless there's outdoor wifi, usually, I use it with earphones listening to music or radio drama/audio drama. It's crazy though sometimes in my head I think I'm the weird one when I see many looking down at their phones while I'm just looking around and observing stuff.
