A life with no friends or family is completely worthless. Money can't buy you shyt that will compensate for the undeliably poor mental and emotional health--and inevitably poor physical health--that comes from loneliness.
I'm saying this as a single man who makes well over six figures alone. I was overall happier and healthier, as well as more financially secure as a married man. As a single man, even with lots of expendable income, the most important thing to me is making sure I have friends, company and LOVING sex partners to visit or visit me every week (my family has all moved away from where I live). My friends and partners are the most important resource I have when I have to deal with all the pressures of taking on life and career by myself. More than money or luxuries.
And I understand that a poor marriage can be hurtful to your mental health as well, but all in all most men regardless of income report a greater level of overall feeling of happiness, safety, security being married. If this "bad family" is simply irritable and annoying at times I'd still choose a half a million dollar family before a low-six figure single life. If this is a sexless, isolated, one sided, hurtful, or even abusive marriage then I'd say get the hell out at all cost and save yourself. A toxic marriage, no matter how much its worth,will fukk your head up way more than being single, affluent, and friendless.
