Mannie Fresh is dope, but greater than Dre? Not even close. Just because he entirely produced all those CMR albums back in the 90's doesn't make him special either. Nothing he produced during that run is significant enough to compare to Dre's classics or even the other producers you listed him with.
Ehh Manny is one of the best on the list

Not saying Mannie isn't talented, but his catalog isn't up there with everybody else's on that list. He has a huge catalog of production, but what besides 400 Degreez (and many would take issue with that one) would be up there with the best of the genre. Everybody on that list is arguably Top 5 except Mannie.

A lot of classics from the 80's didn't sell well. Same goes for some of the classics the 90's.

Criminal Minded
Enta Da Stage
Comin' Out Hard
I agree, but that album came out in 1994 and I dont remember it meaning anything.
Comin out hard was a classic to me but indy.
I've seen people bring up Sun rises... but i've never heard it talked about in my real life, nor do people ever bring uo any of the individual songs. EIther way you look at it. If that's the best you can name as far as a primo classic album. He reallly hasnt done shyt then

Premo isn't a producer who is going to give you commercial smashes. He's never really produced an entire album for an MC of Nas, Jay, Biggie, or Pac's caliber. He's never produced an album for an MC who blew up due to his production. He has, however, contributed a lot to many of the albums that are heralded as classics. He really does live up to his name, because he produced standout songs on premier albums from the greatest Hip Hop artists.

don't forget Moment of Truth. That along with The Sun Rises...are his best produced albums imo. Both classics as well. But Premo wasn't an album producer in the way a RZA/Dre were.

classics in terms of what? production or the overall album? cuz the production is all that should matter.

an album like say lil wayne's "lights out" is just as classic as straight outta compton in terms of production.

edit: in fairness, i havnt heard that wayne album in YEARS.

No,you chose to use his so called eleven year classic run as a talking point. I obliterated it by first stating Dre run was nearly double, then buy pointing out he hasn't had a classic since 91' anyways. You objected to that But didn't return with a new sensible year instead u deflected and start saying personal shyt against my COLI character. So you never returned cause you knew you had nothing for me. So do you have a better candidate or not?

youre right. i brought up the 11 year run as a tiebreaker to seperate him from the other 4 produers. my bad.

but i never attacked you personally in this thread. what are you talking about?

If you haven't heard that Wayne album in years, how are you going to say the production is just as classic as Straight Outta Compton?
