Most successful, yes.

But producing is such a broad topic.

There are many claims to the title for different reasons.

Most successful: Dr. Dre.

Best Run: RZA.

Best sample flipper: madlib/dilla

Most influential: Pete Rock

Best Drums: Dilla

Best mix: Dr. Dre/ DJ Quik
fixed* in my opinion

Well he never really fully produced on his own (besides the early NWA shyt ) he's more of a hands on Khaled . What makes Dre stand out is his ability to mix records , even Quik has admitted that he can't touch dre on mixing

won't nobody but him and yella producin' and yella was basically assistin' dre in the studio. it speaks volumes that yella won't really producin' all that much once dre left the ruthless fold. dre went on to produce the chronic and doggystyle. yella did a track here and there but come on, bruh. it ain't even a comparison lmao

If anything we should give Daz , Erotic D , Colin Wolfe , and Mel-Man there props for Dre , also DOC brings the best outta Dre

yeah? but then the fair argument is why none of them nikkas don't ever be as great as they are when they've worked with dre? :francis:

lets just face it, dre got the magic touch :wow:

:ohhh:

That's actually not too far off from my list. Except that I'm giving best Drums to Quik.

Edit: Most influential could also go to Erik Sermon.

Kanye is the best sample flipper and most influential

:usure:

Kanye is probably the most influential modern producer but he is no where near the best sample flipper. That's a Preemo, Pete Rock, Dilla conversation.

Matter fact, ever Just Blaze is ahead of him.

i always forget about Sermon. them epmd albums had so many classic samples :banderas:

i gave dilla best drums cus that nikka shyt had a different knock at the time. how he kept the shyt off beat and never/minimally quantized and the shyt still sounded like sex breh. :banderas:
