50k for one person is good in most places in America

damn bruh....what kind of bills you got?
in ATL?
well thats why i said most places. But you have to factor in peoples personal expenses. The thing that affects you the most is rent and mortgage. One persons utillities shouldnt be too high, they have a choice whether or not to have an expensive car note or a car not at all etc...
was that their first offer or final offer?lateral move...but this is just maintenance on legacy stuff which is easier than what I do now
was that their first offer or final offer?
and is there room for pay raises?
well...shyt, push that limit homiefirst offer...yeah there is room for growth...the position they want me to fill is of a guy that got promoted

Can you explain how u would be broke? Plenty of families make this or less and they have to support kids. If you are one person 50k should be where you will be ok. Not saying you are balling or anything.
where is your avy from?Rent...Electricity

in ATL?
It depends on area. I'm only willing to work in the perimeter area (Dunwoody/ Sandy Springs which is close to where I live), downtown, or buckhead. Anything else is real questionable and they gonna have to up that dough.
Thanks great example. So that does explain it.Sure.
If you're a single person earning 50k/year in Chicago,Il your net pay per week will be ~$750.
Rent/Utilities in Chicago, for a DECENT one bedroom, not ritzy and not in the hood, just decent, will be $1,000-1,200 month. We'll assume that the place was furnished and you don't have any furniture to buy/pay off either.
Factor in $100/week on food and you're at 1400-1500 for basic living expenses.
That's two checks, gone. You got two more checks left.
Car note/gas($4.00+/gallon)/insurance/transit expenses and cellular/cable/Internet data plans come in at ~$600-800/month
You got one check left.
And you still haven't bought any clothes, paid any traffic tickets, got new plates or vehicle stickers, went on outings/dates, paid on your student loans, or put anything into ANY of your savings accounts yet.
But, say you dump the whole check into your savings account. 750x12 = 9,000./year to save in tangible cash.
One major repair or bill can knock out half those savings.
