Would you take Rose over Goran Dragic?

Dragic is extremely underrated imo but im taking Rose and it ain't close my nikka.

Dragic literally did everything better than Rose last year.

They played almost the same amount of minutes but Dragic finished almost as good at the rim, was a far more efficient scorer, Shot better from the 3 (The difference between KD and Rondo better), averaged more assists, averaged more steals, was better at drawing fouls, was a better defender, and they had similar usage rates. He was also more durable and played more games.

How you taking Rose over him?

They had similar minutes so you can't use the "Rose only played 30 minutes" so blah blah defense. They had similar usage rates.

Miami had one of the worst starts of the season (11-30), had one of the most injured teams in the league, and had a roster full of D-League players and journeyman that no one wanted. How many people would have taken Kristaps over Whiteside and Melo over Dion Waiters last year?

On paper, you gonna sit here and tell me that the Dragic had a significantly better roster than the Knicks?

That nikka just came off a roster that included an unhappy Melo, a shytty ass old school system, a shytty ass roster, ect. Rose also was used to those CHI teams with Tibs running him into the ground and Rose being the ONLY nikka on the whole team who could average 15ppg, let alone the great numbers he actually had those years.

Oh yea, as the ONLY option on that team they finished top 4 in the conference damn near every season. DAMN, THAT CANCEROUS PLAYER ENDED UP BEING THE CURE FOR AIDS .

If Rose was the #1 option anywhere RIGHT NOW, he'd score 23-25ppg on a high fg% (45-47%) EASILY, and they'd be a playoff team according to the pieces around him. I already know nikkas bout to be like (hell naw, he's done, he's trash, he's garbage, knee joke, has tunnel vision, ect) when most of these dumb ass nikkas don't realize that 18ppg as a 3rd option in only 30mpg would EASILY be 23+ppg as a #1 option if he was playing 35-38mpg.

Rose was much worse at defense than Dragic last year and it's not even close. Dragic is average, at best, but he's a much better help defender and has higher defensive IQ.

I’m just saying that Dragic defence is terrible too, particularly guarding his own man, but he does get steals. However, Dragic ain’t keeping anybody out of the paint cuz he’s not strong enough. Dragic is a below average one on one offensive player who needs picks to get around the floor, Rose is a much better ball handler and much better at creating off the dribble from mid range. Rose is faster and stronger (Dragic is strong also) D Rose wasn't getting to the ft line because he uses his athleticism to go around defenders in the air, Dragic goes right into the rotating big body to body, he's not shifty enough to go around them at the basket, Rose is one of the most shifty players EVER. The Triangle, the roster, and Melo ballstopping is the reasons why Dragic's numbers were even comparable. Hope I broke that down enough for u fam, you made some good points though, but u just completely forgot about the whole situation in NY, the environment was just toxic as hell and Rose still balled the fukk out

As a Suns fan, I'd definitely take Dragic over Bledsoe.

When that Suns team came out of nowhere to play above their weight in 2013, Dragic was leading the way.

Bledsoe was sidelined with a torn meniscus.

Dragic is more efficient/better at situational basketball.

And his teams tend to overachieve.

As far as Dragic & D Rose?..........Give me Dragic.

Dragic is a much better pick and roll player, is a better passer in tight spaces, is better at using his body to create contact and create space, is a much better shooter (Again, the difference is like comparing Curry to Rondo), and why would he try to go around players? Even if Rose is better at creating from mid range, who cares? His jumper is broken and teams give him open jumpers all day.

The reason Rose isn't very good in the PnR and it wasn't run often is because defenders just pack the paint because he's such a non-threat out of the paint.

Dragic is plenty of shifty and crafty around the paint which is why he's almost as good at scoring around the rim as Rose despite being much less athletic. Also, the fact that Rose avoids contact is a negative. He doesn't draw fouls or put nearly as much pressure on interior defenders as Dragic.

Ball-stoppers? Do you know who Hassan Whiteside is?

Whiteside makes Melo look like Lebron James and you calling him a ball-stopper? Dragic plays with DION WAITERS AND WHITESIDE.

The system and Melo are the reasons Rose shot 20% from 3 compared to Dragic shooting 40% from 3?

I watched plenty of NY games and you're totally ignoring how Rose was given open jumpers that he couldn't hit consistently. How he struggled finding cutters or shots, etc.

38% of Derrick's Rose possessions last year were in PnR compared to 43% of Dragic possessions but Dragic was still more efficient and was a better PnR for the season.

You say Rose was better at creating isolation but Dragic was far more efficient and typically generated 1.02 points per possession compared to Rose's .88 points per possession

Rose was in the 59th percentile as far as efficient isolation scorers whereas Dragic was in the 84th percentile.

How can this be?
