hillary was by far the strongest candidate out of both parties...the R's havent really even had a sustained front-runner..let alone anyone who has been deemed to have a legitimate chance
repub die hards came out for mid-terms but they are still wildly out-numbered across the country and aren't really gaining ground at all
take a look at vegas odds on it. D's have been heavily heavily favored since 2012 and the mid-terms didnt really change anything
lol at using vegas odds..heres some real talk for you, Democrats havent won 3 straight presidential elections since Franklin Delano Roosevelt...And Clinton was a lock for '08 until Obama showed up..Truth is other than Hillary Democrats really do not have a strong contender for 2016..meanwhile, Jeb Bush is gaining steam on the big money donors trail and already has a pretty solid reputation among the voting public in Florida..also add in the fact that whoever the Dems trot out in 2016 isnt going to be a transformative figure like Obama was which means voter turnout for Dems will be significantly lower than in 2008 and 2012 in the swing states like Florida and Ohio which will be enough for Republicans to take over the white house in 2016.

This is pretty much standard operating procedure for the MSM though. From MSNBC to FOx the one thing they have in common is a love of scandal and the Clintons make a good target for that regardless of the merits of the supposed scandal being reported on with such gusto. It has been this way since the day Bill looked like he had a shot at actually becoming president.
The Democratic nominee would have to fukk it pretty bad given the 2012 electoral map. The popularity of the GOP in national elections has been waning. They have only won the popular vote once in the last 6 election cycles. The only reason they are still relevant is because the Democratic base for whatever reason doesn't vote during the mid terms.

Also, even if you take that map AND give the GOP Florida and Ohio (which by itself is a stretch), they still lose 285-253. Hell, even throw them VA too and the GOP still loses 272-266.
It's tough to imagine a viable scenario where the Dems lose considering that whoever runs won't have all of Obama's baggage. They'd have to really, really fukk things up.

A lot can happen between now and 2016 but if the GOP keep there current stance on immigration and if the SCOTUS strikes down this state subsidy provision from Obamacare, they are going to have to fight much harder than Dems to appeal to the voting base in 2016.
