Naw they were haters in general. They were on Dre and Death Row dikk heavy at the time
Naw they were haters in general. They were on Dre and Death Row dikk heavy at the time
exactly they had to re-rate these albums
and they ended getting 5 mics

You do realize that the Source had a "no 5 mics" policy from 92-96?them shyts should've been 5 mics off tops
I think you got those mixed up. Nocturnal got 3.5 and Dah Shinin got 3.Lets keep it a buck.
Nyc still repped the lyrical standard. The Chronic came out around the same time as G Raps 'Live and let die'
Even tho Dre's production edged Sir Jinx not one rapper on that Chronic album was touchin G Rap. Not one!
compared to G Rap snoop and dre were mediocre yet Chronic was rated higher.
ALso, there were a bunch of nyc lps that shoulda been 5 mics from jump. It wasn't just a westcoast thing.
They gave smiff n wessons Da sHinin 3 1/2
And Heltah skeltahs ' nocturnal ' 3 freakin mics
This isn't true at all.The Source is a New York Hip Hop magazine
You remember how a lot of them felt about nikkas from the West and they felt about nikkas needed to be lyrical to make good music
Big Noyd's EP >>>>>West Coast were the only ones who made classic EPs ... Kill At Will, 187um Killa, 100 miles and runnin, creepin on ah come up (west coast beats)
Hell On Earth should have got 5 mics, but the Source was biased against the East CoastNo it didnt. you made that up
it originally got 4 1/2 along with Hell On Earth in 96.....I remember that issue clear as day....they gave WSC the first half of the page of the record report while Mobb Deep got the 2nd half page
*edit*
the original rating in 96.

Not true.fixed
They had a policy of not giving 5 mics at the timegiving The Chronic or Doggystyle anything less than 5 mics is just laughable. The production, mixing and lyrics all on all-time status. You gotta be some kind of hater to give them less than 5![]()

Why did they have this policy? They had a policy of not giving 5 mics at the time![]()
