Writers Block was a dope mixtape for it's time. Nothing more, Nothing less. The 2000 version of Illmatic argument is beyond reaching.

i dont see the impact at all. and i was a person that was running around hyping up the tape. mood music was a dope mixtape series but lets not act like it was stopping time or anything. nowhere near. i used to have to log on to sohh to yap about it the way i wanted to.

son..I was fukkin wit that shyt before I even knew what sohh was..but u sayin that tape aint have an impact..but for some reason u think fukkin Writers Block is the 2000's Illmatic?..really?..that shyt just sounds ridiculous my g...im not even sayin Mood Musik had this HUGE crazy impact that no other tape has..but im not sayin no outlandish shyt about it either..and overall..it DID have a bigger impact overall than Writers Block...that shyt singlehandedly saved Joey's failing career cause he couldnt even get a second release on Def Jam..that shyt is the reason right now Joey is still a known nikka...literally damn near NOONE talks about J.R. Writer..Joey is still doing shyt with himself..and that's all due to Mood Musik opening that gate after he was destined for failure..

i dont think the same people that listened to budden when he was with clue were listening to mood muzik.

I'm one of em..actually..majority of the people only knew Budden from Pump It up..and not his mixtape run...the ones who was into Budden from the mixtapes was the ones who heard Mood Musik first...cause they the ones who ain't write the nikka off after he ain't produce more hits...and the reason he has alot of fans that wasn't into his Clue shyt..is cause Mood Musik BROADENED his buzz and fanbase after he got written off by the public...that one mixtape is the reason joey has any form of career right now...and that's real talk..

well you already admitted that writer's block was poppin more than mood muzik. now its time for you to admit that writer was spittin much harder than budden.

also, theres no real attitude or flavor to the budden joint. writer was a young/hungry nicca like nas. budden was a older whiney nicca, gettin ready to jump into his emo/slaughterhouse phase. thats the underlining difference, regarding which tape you think is better. i honestly wouldnt even consider mood muzik for such a nomination. writer's block may be different than illmatic....apples n oranges yes. but it had that feel to it. thats the main point. feel me ak?

i was bootlegging at the time. budden's joint wasnt no big seller. there was more money in random unofficial dipset mixes & best-ofs by random djs than there was in the mood muzik series.

edit: keep it real spliz. none of the sheed wallace era budden fans are checkin for dude in 2012. its a whole new setting for that nicca.
