If the end goal is survival then perhaps our trajectory is taking us off planet. Perhaps the reason (if you can call it that) of the increasing complexity of life on this planet is to escape it and spread to the stars.

This dude is a joke. He doesn't even know what he spews out in trying to hide his Christian faith.

:sas2:...... you're a Deist which is nothing more than Christianity-Lite.

You can't talk AT ALL.

Should call George Lucas and let him know you also worship 'The Force'.

How is deism Christianity-lite? What kind of deist am I? Have I ever defined any semblence of anything?

You wrote in this thread, about only one god being described that fits the description of the article, might be the most uneducated thing ever uttered in this forum. It purposely ignores thousands of different religions, cultures and philosophical writings.

All because you have to hide the fact that you are a Christian so you can pretend to come across as an objective theological source in our conversations. The fact that I am the only one who actively calls you out on it just shows how shytty this subforum has become.

Youre thekingsmen of Christianity on here.

Yes, you have defined your view. Deism is derived from.........CHRISTIANITY.............:laff::laff::laff:

Be mad that you can't insult me since I'm not a Christian.

Your slights are useless against me.

This dude just makes up shyt as he goes along. Incredible.

He thinks human history began with the Bible. fukk the Eastern religions, indigenous beliefs in several continents, myriad of pagan beliefs, and so on.

How uneducated can a self proclaimed theologian be if his knowledge only extends to the one religion he believes in?

They are atrocious.

This one is actually pretty solid. To me, a lot of this is why I believe God exists. How else can this perfect planet exist and furthermore, why are humans the only creatures that are aware of their history/culture?
fukk you mean perfect planet?? are you aware of how many things are trying to kill us? are you aware of how many diseases there on this planet that could wipe us out? if your god was so goddamn powerful he wouldn't allow aids, the plague, and a load of other shyt to wreak havoc on our population.

god is good but he lets mankind's population bounce up and down like fukking tennis balls.

i can't stand it when people use science to justify higher beings.

shyt.. we have a higher chance of harry potter being real than jesus and allah and them other mythical creatures.

The earliest known usage in print of the English term "deist" is 1621, and "deism" is first found in a 1675 dictionary. Deism became more prominent in the 17th and 18th centuries during the Age of Enlightenment — especially in Britain, France, Germany and America among intellectuals raised as Christians who found they could not believe in supernatural miracles, the inerrancy of scriptures, or the Trinity, but who did believe in one God.

Deism can be a belief in a deity absent of any doctrinal governance or precise definition of the nature of such a deity. Deism bears a relationship to naturalism. As such, deism gives credit for the formation of life and the universe to a higher power that by design allows only natural processes to govern creation.

Your dishonesty knows no bounds. That refers one specific subset of deism, modern deism. There is also classical deism. There is also eastern philosophies which share deistic principles. Do you know anything about eastern philosophies? Do you know some eastern religions and philosophies are thousands upon thousands of years old, and a lot of them predate Christianity. I know, shocking. There exists an entire world outside of abrahamic monotheism.
