And they threw 4 mill at Trevor Noah?
They could have spent way less than that by giving non-celebs with a following to fill roster spots. Status not gonna carry a podcast. Especially in an over saturated genre.
They would have been better off buying Wondery but Amazon beat them to the punch. There shows tells stories mostly. I’ve listed to some multiple times, especially Business Wars. Politic talk has a short shelf life.

Think Spotify was spending money on them kinda pods brehs lol. They was actually foolishly spending money on non podcaster to start a pod. And all those shyts flipped. They betting on your celebrity would bring people in, but that didn’t work.
Joe rogan pod has a constant base cause he’s a podcaster, Michelle Obama who is not a podcaster getting a bag from Spotify to start a pod was stupid and it failed

I been listening to diffrent type of podcasts since 2014.....thst shyt gets old Quick especially if the draw for the show is the hosts personality.....at one point you just go..." who does this guy think he is ".

These articles or the directors of these companies are stupid.
You can expect numbers that existed during to covid to carry through when people no longer need to fill the time. I'd expect competent directors to make their investments based on this understanding.
