Yeah the intersectionality argument against him is weak as fukk, it would only make sense if he was simply an academic writing on the general state of Black America. But as he consistently makes clear he is not a "academic", but instead is writing partially as a journalist/reporter/historian/ and autobiographer. Sandy Darity follows this woman academic who he RT'd a couple of times who tried to take him to task on this point and the arguments were so silly and shallow. Essentially implying she couldn't take Coates seriously because he did not represent the woman narrative adequately. I'll post the tweets if its not too far back.
I hope there is a second leg of the tour as I missed out on tickets for the NYC/DC events... I wanted to ask him why he wrote about "Black conservatism" revolving his writing around a Christian based traditionalism/Black nationalism way of understanding that term, when that is usually not how that term is studied and understood.
