Coates specifically replies to bullshyt like this.
Coates is saying "theres so much shyt to write about, that we need more writers" He can't do it all.

Man, this further proves Coates critics really dont understand him. Dude is really ahead of them. They dont know that he doesn't proclaim to be an authority, wiseman, or have predictions:
@ogc163 listen at 1:00:30 he directly addresses that Thomas Williams article in the NYTimes
@DonKnock @SJUGrad13 @88m3 @Menelik II @wire28 @smitty22 @Reality @fact @Hood Critic @ExodusNirvana @Blessed Is the Man @THE MACHINE @OneManGang @dtownreppin214 @JKFrazier @tmonster @blotter @BigMoneyGrip @Soymuscle Mike @Grano-Grano @.r.
You worded all this shytYou are free to like or dislike Coates - I personally find him to be redundant and somewhat banal - but gauging the quality and demographics of the reception a work/artist receives can wield some very important insight into the broader social environment. My issue isn't with the veracity of his claims, it's with how they're being utilized, and by whom.
I'm not suggesting dismissing Coates simply because white people like him, I'm saying it's telling that a certain subset of white people hold him in such esteem. It stinks to me. Also, physics isn't as subjective a field as social critique or racial politics.
In my opinion, Coates is a White Writer. He isn't talking to black people, he's acting as a safari guide of black pain to white liberal tourists. They pick up his book/article, read about how powerful they are (magnified by them superficially eschewing that power), and get off on it. "Heavy is the head that wears the crown." Crucially, they never have to remove themselves from the centre position of this Historical narrative. The vast majority of white people I know love Coates ("He's a Very Important Writer!"), yet they're never willing to make any meaningful acts to decentralize themselves, which is a necessary step in truly defeating White Supremacy. Also, I really dislike how conspicuously he apes Baldwin. Also, his politics suck.
Holy shyt at the nonsense....yo get the fukk out of HL again real talk I was just reminded of how much of a shytty poster you are
I'm talking about Trump and this shythead can't NOT bring up Hillary fukking Clinton
Yo I wasn't even a fan of this woman before this election and now I hate her strictly because you clowns won't stop fukking talking about her![]()
Unfortunately, Coates’ allegiance to Obama has produced an impoverished understanding of black history. He reveals this when he writes: “Ossie Davis famously eulogized Malcolm X as ‘our living, Black manhood’ and ‘our own Black shining prince.’ Only one man today could bear those twin honorifics: Barack Obama.”
This gross misunderstanding of who Malcolm X was – the greatest prophetic voice against the American Empire – and who Barack Obama is – the first black head of the American Empire – speaks volumes about Coates’ neoliberal view of the world.
