J/k. Newark is not an extension of NYC. Jersey City is like 5 mins outside of NYC but you can tell when you cross the boundary. I like Jersey but it’s a different atmosphere. Even areas in NYC can be considered different environments- New York City is still NY but each borough has something distinct about it, same applies to Jersey.

Do you have kids?? Do you know how fast those after school spots on site fill up?? Then there’s a wait list. Secondly, the other centers charge fees which some parents can’t afford. Not everyone is going to make a sports team either. Not every kid wants to play sports. Lastly, there’s the arts and music programs- most of which don’t have adequate funding. If they can barely allocate a budget for school programs where are they getting the money for extracurriculars. Some of y’all dont think or think like white people and it shows..

I never heard about no wait list for after school. Obama got My Brother’s Keeper across the country on top of the after school programs in every inner city hosted by non profits and universities and teachers. On top of the YMCA’s and Boys and Girls clubs and churches in every hood. Its not about making the sports team, a lot of schools have open gym and intramurals if you aren’t good enough for the team.

This issue is not one of after school activities or lack of extracurriculars.

You’re talking about teens who are led astray, mentally corrupted, and could give a fukk about school.

What's crazy is I heard Baltimore city gets only $5 million for educational funding, while Baltimore County gets $30 million. My numbers might be off a little, but it was wide margin

To me that is crazy, because Baltimore County is right next to the city so people interact with each other all the time, but one group has way more going towards their education then the other, while the other needs it more. shyt makes no sense to me

I’d rather be in Baltimore than DC. Period. Much more laid back culturally relatable city. Was just in Baltimore 2 weeks ago- with the fam at port discovery , science center.. and it’s not just the harbor where I’ve been either. I know a lot of Morgan State alumni, and at one time was looking to move in the area so I’ve been in and around Baltimore frequently. Been in community services work in Baltimore too with back to school events etc. kids are no different from what any majority black cities are lacking from -negative environment, social conditioning and reduced financial and educational opportunities. Worst thing I’ve seen was some white man with a skin condition that made his skin literally turn blue being paraded around like a sideshow. Rest is just kids hanging out as per usual and people minding their business, doing what they do. With the exception of PG and southern md, which I like- I’m in out and out of DC for work purposes only, it’s real cac cookie cutter type of city, downtown - boring imo.

Both cities are pretty weak to me and not places I’d go unless I had to. I went to bmore once as a kid so i prob should visit as an adult before making a final call

BUT WHY?

Let me ask you, did you think it is inherent in them to act a fool, and be criminal?

If so, do you also think it will never improve because it's just in their nature being where they are from?
