So much hate in this thread from a bunch of westcoast nikkas and dudes still on that "gimme my real hip hop" kick :flabbynsick:

Gucci,Rocko,Young Scooter,Rich Homie,Migos,Future are all the hottest nikkas in the south right now exlcluding Yo Gotti. Most trap rappers in the south get their style from Atlanta nikkas, from the way they dress, slang, producers they use and the way they rap. Gucci fathered 90% of these new nikkas.

Also home of the best trap producers Zay and Mike Will.

I aint even from the A but to hear nikkas say another city is doin it better than them for the last decade :why:

Gucci is 32 years old he was 9 when he moved to Atlanta :skip:

Zaytoven is from Cali but made his name in Atlanta, has a southern production style and works with 90% ATL rappers :patrice:, it's sort of like the DJ Premier is from Houston thing, when you're namin the best southern producers you ain't gonna say his name.

but to say ATL got the best talent or all the talent aint true tho

its like a nikka sayin Kentucky hoops produces the most talent...naw they just recruit the most talent

just like a nikka goin to Hollywood to get a role...a nikka can go to ATL and get a deal...and we both know thats the truth cuz i knew a couple nikkas that went down there on some tryna make it shyt

the thing wit Atlanta is when they have a quality NEW artist, they give them a chance and put them on the same pedestal as stars and give them club play and radio play and the city supports new artists instead of chumpin em off like "who is these ni99as"....its TALENT just like atlanta in every city, maybe not the same vibe or flavor....only difference is the local radio and clubs and people in the cities as a whole dont give them the same opps as atl gives there artists...other cities play EVERYBODY music but their own artists and treat there artists like amateurs...Atlanta treats new artists wit a good new song like starts right out the gate...Atl listens to Atl artists

:whoa:

The most popular rappers in the A are actually from the A though from old to new Kast,Goodie Mob,Lil Jon,TI,Gucci,2 Chainz,Rocko,Young Scooter,Future all spent the bulk of their adult lives growing up in Atlanta. Then you've got nikkas from surrounding areas like Jeezy and the Migos who have connections and ties to certain hoods out there so they can rep the city and not be called out for it. The only transplant that didn't spend a majority of his years in the A before music was Ludacris.

they give the most opportunity becuase thats where alot of record labels and studios at.... plus damn near EVERY successful black entertainer/business person/exec gotta crib or do some type of networking down there

i thinks it more that than it is people just supporting every new ATL artist imo

ofcourse every nikka comin outta ATL is gonna be blown up like crazy..... in ATL thats what they do...nothin wrong wit it...just call it what it is tho

i know hoes that went down there for fashion and clothes n shyt... nothing to do with music but just for the networking in ATL is crazy...its a black Hollywood

thats pretty much what im sayin...i was just speakin musicly cause the thread is bout music...but the people in ATL show SUPPORT to things thats new, they dont bandwagon hop, they create the new wave. people in ATL like discoverin and creatin new shxt....i was just sayin its talent just like ATL all over the united states...its just that those cities dont operate the same and put the talent on a platform and pedestal like ATL does......more cities should follow the same formula for creating their own stars

Of course the ATL
Decatur is not Atlanta. Atlanta is only zones 1-6. Decatur is Decatur.

Of course, Decatur is its own city. But seeing as tho they are neighboring cities & people born in Decatur REP Atlanta a Decatur born rapper is an Atlanta rapper. Andre 3000 is from East Point, Big Boi is from East Point by way of Savannah. Do we make a distinction between East Point & Atlanta? No. It's only a distinction made when you specifically ask people what part of Atlanta they're from, but it's still the greater Atlanta area

It's a mixture of where you rep, what style you have. If you've lived in the A for some years and your music is the "A" style of musice then yeah you can rep the A.

as several posters have already indicated, Atlanta cant rap to save their lives but they have melody

u can feel it in their excellent production and top notch hook game

new york to me lacks both, thats why i dont fukk with it

california has the best balance to me

nikkas go to atlanta to get on

them record labels and radios prolly make them nikkas rep ATL but nah they dont be from there

I was about to type the same thing, then I read your post.

In New York, either you from there or you not. You try to be a rapper claiming Brooklyn or Harlem and you really from Connecticutt, nikkas up here gonna flame you :heh: Almost all these Atlanta nikkas are from other parts of the South and moved to ATL to get on. Gucci from fukkin Alabama. Big Boi from Savannah, Georgia. Jeezy from South Carolina/Macon, Georgia yet its always the A this, the A that :troll:

I'm not debating that. I agree

Nah, Houston tends to support its own, the bay supports its own...ATL is not unique in that regard
