Nah, Houston tends to support its own, the bay supports its own...ATL is not unique in that regard

bruh i wasnt sayin that atlanta is the only city that supports indie and local lol...i was speakin in general, Houston and the Bay are 2 of the FEW cities that supports indie and local music...Houston had their time nationally and aint capitalize by puttin on more artists wit catchy and good songs... and the Bay got a sound that mostly only the Bay fvcks wit..... Atlanta got that formula and that network i guess

I fux wit Future, I've heard a few tracks from RHQ, has a good underground buzz and some cool tracks . But as far as the Migos... :beli: Them nyggaz are wack. The ATL has had a long run of hit records, summer bangers, dances, chart toppin producers etc. The ATL got this rap shyt on lock.

The Mt. Ushmore of the ATL:
TIP
Luda
Gucci
Jeezy

Then others like:
Alley Boy (DTE)
Future
Roscoe Dash
Travis Porter
Dro
2chainz
RHQ
Cash Out (1 hit wonder)
Trinidad James (1 hit wonder)
Travis Scott
Waka

All hold it down for the A and constanly run the charts and the clubs

:whew:

The A is here to stay yall

Damn all them names and u left off
the legends (really should be on Rushmore): Outkast, Goodie Mobb
the quality artist: Killer Mike, Youngbloodz
the Underground Kings: Pill, Rocko, Scooter
the Kings of Crunk: Lil Jon, Scrappy, Pastor Troy
The Eclectic: BOB, Childish Gambino (lakeside), Arrested Development
The hot for a second: Gorilla Zoe, Oj da Juiceman, Kris Kross, Crime Mob, Ying Yang

And dozens of others ....

:whoa:

The most popular rappers in the A are actually from the A though from old to new Kast,Goodie Mob,Lil Jon,TI,Gucci,2 Chainz,Rocko,Young Scooter,Future all spent the bulk of their adult lives growing up in Atlanta. Then you've got nikkas from surrounding areas like Jeezy and the Migos who have connections and ties to certain hoods out there so they can rep the city and not be called out for it. The only transplant that didn't spend a majority of his years in the A before music was Ludacris.

Luda moved from Illinois when he was 10 and he is 35 now

Same way Teddy Riley moved from ny as a full a grown man and is considered to be a Virgina hip hop artist. Mary J Blige moved from Savannah to NY and she is NY to the core, etc etc

Japan, but from the 989
I'll admit it. ATL has been running things for a while without falling off. The West is making a sort of a comeback with K.Dot. But NY has been pretty much in the middle for a decade or so.

ATL got the next wave of producers as well.

Zaytoven
Mike WiLL
808 Mafia [TM88, Southside, Tarentino]
Metro Boomin

:ohlawd:

Also, what gets overlooked is how Gucci Mane been breaking some of these rappers in Atlanta. Future, Flocka, Scooter - Gucci was working with all of em before people even knew who they were.
