WTF Is Going On With Kevin Ollie and UCONN?

UCONN will come back, they missed on a few big names I thought they had a legitimate shot at like Hami Diallo.

The big names they did get like Rodney Purvis turned out to be terrible. They also had a few kids leave early against better judgment

Since when was UConn the underdog during a championship run? The year when they had Okafor, Ben Gordon, and Villenuava? Against GT? Hell naw.

It sounds crazy but it is true. UConn was always counted out, especially their 3rd and 4th. If there was an exception, it was the championship you’ve mentioned. All of this is coming from an actual diehard UConn fan.

That’s bullshyt. UConn’s problem is Kevin Ollie, period. End of story. This college team got 4 championships, and were the underdogs for all of them. That program doesn’t win with one and dones, this was the 2nd program to win the national championship without a single McDonald’s All-American. People bring up the conference, yet they can’t dominate this same conference? Since the introduction of the AAC, UConn never finished top 3. Ever. The entire staff have got to go.

Think about it. Look at this team, and tell me if they would kill in this current ACC, Big East, Pac 12, or Big XII?

I can agree, but when was the last time you all had consistent talent ?? I know it was a point you all keep a top draft pick or two, but now not so much, in today’s landscape you can get 3 dudes and be back, but I’m thinking kids just ain’t trying to go to Connecticut like that anymore

Daniel Hamilton was a 5 Star from Cali, Jalen Adams was a 5 Star from Boston. Alterique Gilbert was a McDonald’s kid, Terry Larrier was a high 4 star. Vance Jackson, this kid transferring to Notre Dame. Last year preseason, they had UConn as one of the darkhorses to make the Final Four. Trust me, it’s coaching. Rankings wise, they are superior to Wichita State, but who do you think would win? You could have all the talent in the world, if you don’t have the proper staff to mold them and guide them properly, well you get the current UConn team.

UConn in all seriousness , should be what Villanova is now. For some weird reason, they don’t land Burger Boys either but guess what? They win.

Not as long as Geno is the coach. Moving to the AAC hasn't affected recruiting on the women's side. In part because UConn is still winning titles and all of the perks that come with it.

Someone once said you never want to be the man to succeed a legend. Ollie won with Calhoun's players and recruiting has gone downhill. It was the same way when Pitino left UK, Dean retired from UNC, Wooden retired from UCLA, etc.
