Thats wack as fukk. Not only does the "metaphor" not carry over into the verse at all, but if it is a metaphor he doesn't develop anything about it as far as a story or nothing.

Also, if its about hip-hop like you say, again, that is still not a Wu-tang tribute, it's a hip-hop tribute that references Wu tang. So that too is wack as fukk.

If it was a Wu tang tribute it would be a different story, but its not a Wu tang tribute

Drake "paying tribute" to legendary groups like UGK and the Wu makes me want to break his head with a baseball bat

there are rappers who are wack, then there's Drake who incites my animosity with his very existence

Drake saying he...
"came up from the underground so i'll spend another 10 thou for Dilla" must have made you sick to the pit of your stomach then b.

:heh:

Them nikkas should have still done the remix :snoop:

We're gonna act like Camay didn't happen, we gonna act like Rae and Ghost didn't remix that Slim Thick joint? :beli:

It would have been a dope hip hop moment, and could have gotten Wu some mainstream shine for today's generation IMO.

i was just about to say, he should have just got Rae and Ghost on the remix on some Camay sort of stuff.

I was about to say, am I the only one who got it?

hes using wu tang forever as a metaphor for having something real. wutangforever is a different type of album.wu tang is like as pure hip hop as you can get. did he pull it off...idk but I woulda liked to hear a clan mix anyway. dudes shoulda listened to the song and tried to understand how he was coming wit it

sounds pretty fukken lame to me.

"what's that? one of the most popular rappers in the world named a song after us, and wants us on the remix, that a huge audience will hear?

nah.

no thanks."

i don't even like drake that much. but this couldve been a dope hip hop moment.

clan talkin about being too "hard"...they used to rhyme about women all the time. especially ghost and rae. meth made "all i need." u-god made "black shampoo." these guys been making songs for the broads off and on for like two decades. they never used to be salty or defensive about it. just a few years ago, ghost made a whole R&B ALBUM.

but oh no, we can't have drake collaborating with wu-tang, yell the real rap retards. wu-tang is too "hard" for drake, they say.

ok...what's the first single to the new wu album?

Keep Watch....featuring AN R&B SINGER ON THE HOOK. An offbrand rando named "Nathaniel."

And what's the second single to the new wu album?

Ron O'Neal...featuring AN R&B SINGER ON THE HOOK. Same offbrand rando, "Nathaniel."

if only Drake could be as hard as Nathaniel

When Wu made "Love Songs" it was once in a blue moon and even then they were CLASSIC songs. "All I Need", "Ice Cream", "Fantasy Remix" "Break ups 2 Make ups". These are all AMAZING records. "Wu Tang Forever" is a typical Drake simp fest and has NOTHING to do with the Legacy of Wu outside of the name and the sample. If Drake think's a Tribute is sampling a few bars and calling "Wu Tang Forever", he was wrong. THE STREETS spoke and Wu COULD NOT be associated with that track what so ever. Again this was a GREAT chance for Drake to introduced his Fanbase to Wu.

Instead he gave them again another Simp track and tried to use Wu's legacy to give it some credibility. Most of that fanbase had the nerve to DISS Deck when he said the track didn't live up. Sorry, not going to fly. "Wu Tang Forever" should of been some hard body, lyrical sh!t. Even the beat wasn't up to Wu standards, that beat was NyQuil status, put me to sleep. Also WU Tang DOESN'T need Drake for Sales or Commercial love. Matter of fact Wu Tang has SOLD MORE ALBUMS than Drake has and has a way LARGER fanbase so this talk about "Oh they could use the sales from Drake's popularity", Please. Wu Tang are LEGENDS.

Damn song had nothing to do with Wu-Tang.

For all we know he wrote it after throwing money at an Asian stripper :mjlol:

This whole situation is a damn shame. Drake actually makes a tribute song to his idols(something most rappers wouldn't do because of pride issues, Drake seems a cool dude) and the song is sooooo misjudged. I still can't believe it. The reaction to the song is :scusthov: , and the momentum which could have led to a classic remix is completely lost.

It was a strategic move on his part as well, ain't just paying 'tribute'

If you can't tell the difference between Wu making songs for women, or Wu having singing on their hooks, and Drake....you need to get your ears checked.

Fred.
