did anybody read the Grantland piece ?
i haven't read it yet but it's the quotes from Rae thats getting the most exposure.

http://grantland.com/features/wu-tang-clan-20th-anniversary-reunion-rza-gza-ghostface/

A few months from now, Raekwon will tweet a terse response to the comments RZA makes to me about Chef’s lack of commitment to the Wu album: “Yea i just read that rza article? shyt is funny to me.” (He’ll add: “I love u rza, u know what it really is.”) This evening, he offers a fuller appraisal.

“I would be the first one to say that we cannot leave everything in RZA’s hand no more,” Rae says. “He has done his job to the greatest of his ability when we were younger, but now every man plays an imperative role in this situation. His plan was to do a more humble album. We was like, Nah. You can’t do that with the hardest group in the game.”

Of “Family Reunion,” Rae says, “We knew that wasn’t no single.” The anniversary album’s tentative title, A Better Tomorrow, wasn’t approved by the group before it was announced, which created dissension early in the process, something the fractious Clan could scarcely afford. “It’s like getting the United Nations to all agree on one fukking thing,” Rae sputters. “Italy ain’t having it. Japan is on some shyt. You know what I mean? Now, here it is, the 20-year anniversary that’s so decoratedly respected that we might not even be on time for this shyt.”

Read the whole thing. Very good read. Bit of a blow to see the strain of the group but also understandable. Also got me to see where everyone is coming from when it comes to this new album and their last album. All crews in hip hop seem to go through this but Wu is at least still standing, just wish they could all get on the same page creatively

Ghost has laid vocals for the new album. He'll be on it. Rae hasn't laid any verses yet, citing payment and the way the album is being put together as reasons for him not participating yet.

GFK still got some sh!t. 12 reasons to Die was one of the more acclaimed hip hop albums of 2013 and some of his verses on Wu-Block was :whoo:. I do feel that he coasts from time to time, but mostly on guest verses, or throwaway/mixtape tracks. I have no reason to believe that he won't be spittin that ol Tone Stark fire on the new Wu album and his upcoming solo.

4th DISCIPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My faith has been restored about this album. RZA MATH 4TH TRU... I know rza got gems from all of em in the stash

now if only he could get the clan to bless the man woman and child rza remix that cilvaringz used. such a classic beat wasted. ugh

Yea, man. Not having the clan over this beat is damn near tragic:

Source? That story made it clear that no one is on the same page and most of them are comfortable not putting out another group album.

They recorded most of the album while on tour last year. Parts were recorded on tour. Parts in the old Wu Mansion. Some verses was even laid down a few weeks ago in NY. What do you think this single is for? Album is in it's super final stages of development, breh. They already set a June release date.
