I agree with everything but I still had fun just running around. The bosses are definitely not build friendly i can’t stress that point enough and i can’t blame you or anyone else for dropping this game for that reason alone. I basically came to grips that I would be switching my build when I encountered a boss from Hong Lan and beyond. But it definitely shouldn’t be like that. Breh the final boss was the easiest ever with a magic build I could not believe it, I used my spell TWICE and he was dead but with my axe build it was actually a cheap challenge because you swing the weapon so damn slow and everyone likes to do a Hulk like jump backwards made it not fun at all. So I looked up a guide and found the cheesiest soulslike build known to man.

Again I liked it for what it was but I’m definitely craving more
I'm playing it through for the exploration and map/world design. Which I find to be a joy. Routine enemies are fun enough. Bosses... I pull out the guide and just tough it out for 30-40 minutes to get back doing what I enjoy. A couple of times. I get into a well-design boss and that's a treat.

Finished the game and it was kinda a slog through the last area. Switched my build to pure magic and two tapped the last boss :mjlol:

I’ve never seen such a weak ass final boss in my life dope game but definitely went out like a wet fart :francis:

Overall I give it a 7/10

I did the exact same thing. I was just not having a good time trying to beat that dikkhead with a sword for him to run away flying and shyt ever 10 seconds.


I honestly give this like a 8 and I hated so much corny shyt in this game :dead: some of them late game bosses had me tight. Did you fight the Demon of Obsession?

Loved the game until I got to chapter 3 in the forest section. This is when it made sense to me why they allow free respec at a moment notice.

Pretty game at times, but they couldn't balance a seesaw if they tried. Now I'm just cheesing everything.

Nope didn’t even fight her lol. By the time the credits rolled I was itching to exit out and uninstall. I got my trophy saying I got one of the endings and that’s all I needed to see

Man... That 1st chapter was really magical. The game really sabotage itself with the bosses and some of the level design/status effect shenanigans. It went from being something that felt really unique and sort became an Elden Ring Clone by half way through to be honest

I would argue most of the later bosses are actually harder than Malenia on release tbh :mjlol:

Harder and mechanically unsound bosses with crazy animations = better

IDK, Malenia is like the limit of what a boss should be. Lots of SOTE hit that sweet spot too. mesmer was great.

however it has became an arms race with the soulslike to create the most annoying, fakkity and downright insulting bosses possible so its gotten worse and worse since ER.

These dikkheads are designing bosses like we are DMC5 dante or Hayabusa when you're usually a very slow, methodical character in comparison to the nonsense the bosses are doing. I beat all these shyts because I'm just good at these games but even I get pissed and frustrated and I'm like "why even design this lol"

A lot of bosses in this game are just so comically overtuned that you either have to have great great great runs, or cheese. There is definitely some dude out there who can no hit this whole game blindfolded or w/e but for the average non severely autistic gamer these shyts are getting more and more frustrating and as a super OG player since Demon souls a reset needs to happen soon because they are reaching the limits of what peole are going to want to deal with.

I'm only in chapter 2. My gripes:

1. The lore and design for the most part isn't very compelling or interesting.
2. Too reliant on dodging. I think on the final boss on chapter 1. I dodged like over 200 times.
3. The attack patterns going up to 7 or 8 combos is excessive and kind of boring. Just spamming moves and your constantly trying to dodge. This isn't fun to me.
4. Having to spend a significant amount of time finding the right boss for each boss is cumbersome. Would of been a great purpose for NPC to tell cryptic hints on weaknesses on bosses.
5. Parrying doesn't feel great. Quite loose and no stagger build on parries is ergeious game design. Completely devoid the value of having a parry.
6. Annoyingly slow player animation when knocked down or healing.
7. Clashing is fun, but I don't want to play that way with every sword weapon boss.
8. Bosses don't feel build friendly. Especially, if they have a sword or magic. I don't like basically being require to use a guide to get through a game and being required to change my build significantly to beat a boss that kind of feels cheap.
9. The boss run back are obnoxious sometimes.
Its funny because Wo long got shytted on when it came out but that's probably the best souls like game I really loved from a gameplay perspective.

Gameplay is really good besides the boss. Which is a real shame. A wonderful combat system devolved to guide reading on bosses.

I thought Lies of P had way more entertaining boss battles, but the gameplay isn't deep like Wuchang.

So, I got the bad ending and dang... That was really terrible. It's not like a morally bad end. The ending was legitimate dog shyt NG+ bait cliffhanger on some "wtf was that shyt" :pacspit:

So, instead of taking the L and just admitting that I wasted 20 hours. Decided to do NG+ and get atleast something satisfying ending. Used an ending guide and figured out where I fukked up.

Not allowing save states and immediately dumping you into NG+ is fukked up.
