All jokes aside concerning Cena... He's not my favorite guy on the roster but he's the only man on the roster besides Brock I'd trust wholeheartedly to carry my company and maintain interest for six months.
He's consistently putting on great matches and his mic work and crowd control is head and shoulders above anyone on the roster not named Paul Heyman.
It's telling that they moved him back to the main event this past Monday.
The US title had to close the show to give people an incentive to keep from turning the channel and forgetting about RAW.
They legit have no one on either roster to replace him.
Anyone who ever had a shot has been tainted by booking or lacks the charisma that John had from day one.
They've really backed themselves into a corner.
This is why you don't push one guy for a decade at the expense of the entire roster.
John is getting up there in age. Dude can't keep carrying the show on his back everytime Vince and Stephanie look at the ratings and see that they're tanking.
Something has to give because as great as he is, eventually John isn't going to be walking through that door to save everybody.

CeGOAT being on top for 10 years was for a reason, not because Vince has a love affair for him but because he's a really the only superstar on the roster besides Brock. Rollins as a long term champ is already getting stale real quick. Neckbeards were crying for CeGOAT to go mid card and now he made the mid card title bigger then the WWE title :heh:

He gets BY FAR the loudest pops every night and I'm not counting the corny "Cena Sucks" chants

But the reason no one else has been able to get over is that Cena has been the entire show for 10 years.

They should've been creating new stars instead of burying people.

This speaks volumes about the Shield guys not having a mainstream connection despite what seems like them all having big fanbases online and being an obvious priority for the company.
All 3 are in the main storylines over Cena (midcard) DB (injured maybe for good) and Legends who arent there ever week or cant even physically wrestle or part timers

Look, you gotta have a character who can standout with the promos and get mainstream pop culture' s attention, thats always been the name of the game. Who the hell is that right now?

Or you know be Brock Lesnar (who again has Heyman)

I'm NGL, Balor would have the look and maybe its time to bring him up (though I dont know if mainstream people will like him past the face paint if he aint a great promo) and dare I say even Big Cass and Enzo have charisma that could connect mainstram (But conversly I guess arent great wrestlers)

More I think about it, more NXT folks maybe the answer but do you want them handled by Vince and Dunn just yet?

I disagree, John Stewart was feuding with Seth Rollins a few months ago and it was all over the place.

I saw Seth Rollins on the Today show for chrissakes.

Total Divas is all over the place.

The problem is the show.

It's stale as hell.

Sasha Banks if pushed correctly, could be innovative as a star in todays society. In todays feminist society. It would make National headlines if 2 women Main Evented Wrestlemania. She has everything it takes to lead the company. Charisma, RIng Skills, A Biracial Background. If she was a dude she'd be the biggest star in the world right now.

Just my two penny's.

:ld:

Agreed and don't forget her uncle's Snoop Dogg too.

If she was a dude, she'd be The Rock by this point.

Honestly, I don't think it has to do with the boring writing or stale authority figure or even the no unknown big name wrestlers, or even the 3 hr show (even though I believe a 2hr show would do better).

I think audience has outgrown "wrestling". They might tune in every now and then, but they won't stick around for an entire 2hr or 3hr show. Even if they went back to the attitude era and bring back tv-14, ratings would still be down.

I don't think we'll have a boom period anytime soon. Wrestling definitely is in depression mode, just look at TNA, a mere few yrs ago they were constantly getting 1.2 with ease, I know DA is offered worldwide but they can barely get above 0.3 and the product is better now than ever

Nah, there's a minor wrestling boom going on right now.

Look at Lucha, TNA, WWE, ROH, & New Japan all going at the same time basically.

There's never been more wrestling on.

Everybody in here is having a great time praising Cena and saying he was the only star but they're full of shyt and they always have been. Like Nexus didn't blow up and get good ratings, good merchandise sells, and didn't blow away the Pipe Bomb push Punk got a year later across the board. Punk could of reached ANOTHER level in 2011 had he not been fed to Nash and Cripple H for some reason and doing a feud with Johnny Ace in 2012..just weird shyt. He was brought down to earth. They DID push Cena aside for ONE man though..more than they ever have...Daniel Bryan. The guy the fans turned on other legends for and took over shows for. When they chanted "WE WANT DIVAS" during that Cena/Blandy match, VInce and his crew got their MIND RIGHT real quick with Bryan. Had him lead off the show instead of Batista, the Rumble winner:laugh: Str8 SHOOK. He got injured though even though EVERYONE loved him. Cena isn't the only superstar..he's protected and the commentary will do promos for him even when he doesn't. It's unheard of.....

I never felt three hours is the problem. They barely push any midcard stories and a bunch of talent ain't even showing up on RAW at this point unless it's to get squashed (Swagger, Ryder, Slater, Fandango, Rose, Sandow & Axel). You're not telling me they couldn't easily fill up three hours if they actually bothered to use them properly instead of having Rollins and Cena repeat the same damn promo every single week.

Whatever happened to backstage segments anyway? Nowadays it's always just them getting interviewed or standing around waiting for no reason, and maybe (just maybe) someone interferes. They need to go back to backstage segments where all kinds of fukkery went down. Like they have a promo by Heath Slater talking about he's still coming for Cena only for Roman to smash through because Bray did some shyt again and he's really gonna get him this time so the whole show you keep getting these short 30 second segments of Roman asking a random talent if he's seen them, they give a completely useless answer in character and Roman scoffs them off and moves on. That kind of stuff.

Like that episode of RAW when Stephanie sent Ambrose to meet a psychiatrist and they kept showing Ambrose fukking with him. Yeah, that shyt was dumb as hell but it sure beats having to listen to Kane talk about how he's the director of operations and the Authority is doing yada yada yada for the umpteenth time.

That's all WWE offices making that push with their relationship with NBC/USA to get Rollins. And Total Divas isnt as popular a reality show as you may think compared to other reality shows, it doesnt really talked about on radio and morning tv etc

I'm saying you compared the visibility of guys now to the Hulkamania era, the Attitude Era or even Ruthless Agression era (The Divas, Cena and Batista got some promo) and this is probably the most fringe barely famous group since the mid 90s (Whom we all remember as big back then but they really had to push Shawn, Bret, Diesel and Razor people forget this now) and they arent even as known as that.

It doesnt feel like they are naturally relevant and yes I agree relevancy is subjective in these fragmented pop culture times but still...I dont feel people talk about Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose like Rock, Austin and Triple H or Warrior, Hogan and Savage during the same time they were coming up

Yeah, I kinda feel you.

It's not like when Mr. T. & Cyndi Lauper and those folks were involved.

It's kind of treated like how comic books and that type of ComicCon stuff is treated.

As reported, last night’s episode of WWE RAW struggled in the ratings, including a fourth straight week where they did not draw over four million viewers for a segment. This was the the go-home show for this weekend’s WWE Battleground pay-per-view, but it was the second lowest rated show of 2015.

With all of this said, it should be noted that RAW went against the MLB Home Run Derby last night, which drew 7.126 million viewers on ESPN, and may be a reason for the continued slide.

http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/597...alls-yet-again-to-second-lowest-score-of-2015

Viewership for the July 13th edition of WWE RAW was down yet again, averaging just 3,531,000 viewers across all three hours. That’s the second lowest score of 2015 so far, slightly ahead of the June 29th episode.
Hour one drew its lowest number with only 3,432,000 people tuning in, rose slightly to 3,514,000 for the second hour, and rose again to 3,647,000 for the third and final segment.

RAW viewership continues to be a struggle for WWE in recent months, as this week marks the fourth straight week they failed to break the four million barrier. In fact, out of the lowest TEN scores of 2015 (or roughly 36% of all the shows so far), EIGHT of them have come since May.

:mjlol: ARe there still people who think that who the champ is decides whether ratings are up or down?

Who the hell just watches Raw for the champ?

People watch the entire show and the entire show has been awful.
