He never wanted to stick to the Attitude Era to begin with. Vince always wanted WWE to be a "family" entertainment show. The Attitude Era was strictly a response to the current TV climate at the time.
And yet the current tv climate would also necessitate an attitude era
Everyone is so sensitive nowadays so they'd get protests every week. Plus they're slaves to sponsors and corporations now so they couldn't even if they wanted to.
Them being a publicly traded company will stop that from happening again but i mean in the sense of the amount of things on TV and the amount of risks TV takes now. Start raw at 9, make it a 2 hour show and you can get away with a lot of that stuff. Like I said before, don't tell me you're competing with the walking dead or true detective, or football of course and offer a less compelling and less adult product

Agree. Fans want a good story with a few twist and turns, well developed characters, and the occasional surprise ending.
Instead the WWE wants to push the same rehashed garbage script with the same boring ass characters.
No matter the era, the WWE always had sponsors.
Since they want to cater to soccer moms with too much time on their hand and their bytchmade kids, they somewhat backed themselves into corner.
