Honestly, I don't think it has to do with the boring writing or stale authority figure or even the no unknown big name wrestlers, or even the 3 hr show (even though I believe a 2hr show would do better).

I think audience has outgrown "wrestling". They might tune in every now and then, but they won't stick around for an entire 2hr or 3hr show. Even if they went back to the attitude era and bring back tv-14, ratings would still be down.

I don't think we'll have a boom period anytime soon. Wrestling definitely is in depression mode, just look at TNA, a mere few yrs ago they were constantly getting 1.2 with ease, I know DA is offered worldwide but they can barely get above 0.3 and the product is better now than ever

It's not even football season yet. It's going to get a whole lot uglier :scust:

Like others said, the talent is there but the writing is horrible. Just peep the rusev/lana/summer/dolph angle. It's hideous.

I still watch because of the coli fukkery :manny:
Sad when people care more about baseball and soccer than your "sport"

This too, their loyal WWF fan base is now probably in their 40s with kids and depending on the current generation for ratings is terrible for any wrestling

But real talk, they should have pulled the trigger on Roman Reigns. He was getting crazy buzz earlier this year. Smarks can hate all they want, but they still would have tuned in to see him potentially lose like they've been doing with Cena this past decade. :yeshrug:

People are real short sighted and blame the Champ for the ratings...the ratings are a reflection of the overall product. The WWE have a lot of stars who nobody really gives a fukk about, that they feature on TV week after week. Sheamus, Ziggler, Big Show..... they need to start jobbing those guys out and elevating some fresh faces.

If John Cena is the only star who can close the show without the ratings taking a nose dive, WWE has some major problems.

the fans aren't sick of wrestling, it's the product.

think about how many casual viewers probly tune in week to week. of those casual viewers, how many of them are actually given a reason to STICK AROUND.

ppl tune in, they see it's dogshyt, and then they don't come back for a year.
