WWE PLE’s headed to ESPN starting in 2026

I think the only real mistake in the WWE/ESPN deal is the creating an entirely new vertical/platform and charging $30 for it. If all the PLE's went to ESPN+ as part of the already existing Disney+ bundle. I bet A most people already had some variation of it or would have been more willing to do that package. But, if you a person that already had the main Disney+ bundle and then they are like yeah well this won't be on that you need this one. After they already just price jacked you for that bundle. It's a fukk you.

Then if by chance you have ESPN through cable and you paid for Peacock or Disney+ bundle you still can't get this package because it's outside of that or Disney hasn't worked out a deal with your provider. I have Cox cable mostly because of the sports packages and already get the entire ESPN family. I never really use ESPN+ but have it due to the Disney+ bundle that I paid up for for Marvel and Hulu shyt especially without ads. So now I have literally everything of ESPN and they still want me to pay another $10 or so for this. Because one they won't split shares with Cox so I have to technically buy the ESPN channels a second time just get this.

Plus you have to have Netflix to watch RAW. Which after I upgrade my desktop monitor I will be more willing to use my VPN to use Netflix for the PLE's but man this is just too much work and services for a product that is dipping considerably.

It's a dumb discussion to engage with because Freddie just said "a friend that works at Disney", that could be an executive that has nothing to do with the WWE deal and is just giving Freddie the gossip he's heard of. It could also be a high end source with direct knowledge of the WWE deal and how it's doing, but it's impossible to know.

And it that scenario, WWE should just stay away and keep counting money

I could see him hearing this from a friend that works for Disney, and I could see ESPN possibly being a little disappointed by the first event, but it's too soon to have buyers remorse, especially since they rushed WWE coming over in what is typically an off time for WWE so the app could build up subscribers, and it isn't WWE's fault that ESPN's apps have notoriously sucked.
