Disappointing for the sole wrestling fan but ESPN is making sure someone is going to pay for this D2C shyt. WWE launched an wrestling network only 11 years ago for $10 and that shyt is VHS status now. They're about to be two years in with the TKO deal and moving PLEs to ESPN for $30. Someone with better business acumen can probably school me, but this looks like low risk-high reward for TKO.
It's tone deaf but pretty much good ole' captialism at work. More people are tightening their budget due to a unstable economy and job market, yet these entertainment companies are still raising prices.
Going to be a lot of people treating these streaming services like wardrobe for the four seasons. Switch up every 3-4 months or go to the alternative routes. Or you could just bush the company in general and say it was a moral decision knowing damn well it's strictly financial.
Also, fukk Pat McAfee.
