App is live. Did the configurations to activate it.

I entered my Spectrum and Disney + account and it went through.

I see the ESPN app. Using a Roku. Seems like my brother setup an account, prolly thru xfinity. Unless this a different app. 'm wondering if the PLEs gonna be on here or if I can just turn to ESPN on the xfinity stream app like the regular cable channel that be showing sportscenter. Unless it airs on tv then is available on the app for streaming?

I just hope they put it where you can start from beginning if not able to catch it from start cuz peacock would only let me rewind up to a certain point then wait a while for the replay. Had that issue at summerslam where they didn't upload until i think the next morning so had to avoid spoilers.

You should. When I got on the app, shyt had ESPN, 2, 3, EPSN U, ESPNews, and plus.

Which is crazy considering I only subscribed for regular ESPN and 2 on my cable subscription.

yeah, this is poor planning for sure on all parties

ESPN- no reason why you didnt do the work to have all major carriers on board before rolling this new app out. You have way too many clients to lose by trying to charge for this app separate (carriers who dont have it yet: Comcast (Xfinity), YouTube TV, DISH, Sling, Altice, Cogeco, Frontier, and Cable One). With this thinking, they will need 900k new subscribers to their $30/month plan just to break even on the WWE deal. (I know they will make alot back in advertising)

WWE- rushing to start this new partnership with ESPN and your PPVs in September when all of those carriers listed above dont have access yet is just dumb and greedy. Thats millions of people who would be able to tune in to your PPVs (and feel they are saving money with the ability to drop Peacock if that was your goal). But no chance to get all those people who are paying for TV service monthly to go back to paying $30/month for your 5 match shows. Thats crazy.

BUT, overall, WWE dont care. They have their money upfront in the agreement with ESPN. Its ESPN's job to find ways to make their money back (or make a profit)

Also, ESPN is paying all this money ($1.6B over 5 years), is moving up to start showing PLEs early, and didnt even get the rights to Cena's last match? Who is running this company?

Why a disaster? ESPN isn't producing the events (thankfully) and if you already have ESPN through most cable providers you'll already have access to the events (except Comcast Xfinity, YouTube TV, Dish, Cox, Sling for now).

So you're just clicking on a different app to watch, really.

If anything, it might be cool to maybe see more WWE talent on ESPN shows. Hopefully it's not just HHH loving the sight and sound of himself on the shows.
Why a disaster? Yes the answer is that half of people in the country who pay for cable would have to pay an extra monthly subscription now :pachaha:

They really ran loud but quiet on the details a few weeks ago and of course, the "journalists" asked no questions. You had people in this thread quoting Ariel where he managed to not bring this up when talking about great this was :wow:
