I'd agree that it was character evolution if not for the fact that they're still trying to act as if he's the same character he was 3 decades ago.

They'll have Wolverine and other characters refer to him as loner while at the same time he's on 4 different teams. Wolverine is NOT living a tragic lonely existence anymore but they still try and use that as the crux of many of his stories.

Blue team had Ms Marvel Rogue who was a team wrecker..........she is going to be a problem.

Gold has the advantage of Jean who was easily a better telepath than Betsy and a had high level telekenetic.

Blue has the leadership advantage with Cyke. Storm is no pushover but Scott is really a better tactician.

Gold has the flight advantage with three flyers with Archangel, Storm, Jean and even Iceman with his ice slides.

Gold has the advantage with ranged attacks with Archangel, Storm, Iceman, Jean and Bishop.

Blue has better hand to hand fighters (Wolverine, Psylocke, Beast, Rogue, Gambit)

If they fight each other the Gold should win. If the Gold team fights smart they win easy. Jean can shut down Scott's optic blasts at the onset and also sets up a tk shield. Iceman reinforces it with an ice shield to create a barrier between them and the blue team while Storm lays down some fog to leave them blind. Jean guides them telepathically while she tk grabs whoever she can while the flyers target the Blue teams ranged attackers first. (Using 90's versions, Betsy is no competition for Jean and preferred h2h over her telepathy) Bishop and Colossus takes point to absorb any attacks that may get through. Rogue and Wolverine are the only ones who probably survive the initial onslaught. Jean takes them out with her telepathy.

Blue can win if they utilize their speed advantage. Cyke must do a wide angle optic blast immediately to take out Jean and some of the flyers before they take to the air or Jean sets up a shield.

blue being a strike team I'd assume they'd get jump and would take out jean 1st. If it happened any other way it would be really close..... short of jean just shutting everyone down and calling it a day (unless beast comes prepared).


But if they actually get into a fight I'd give it up to blue because they have better all around fighters, gambit, beast, cyclops, rouge, psylocke.... you get touched by 3 of those members and your done.

In the Blue/Gold era there was also X-Factor, X-Force, Excaliber and Generation X came at the very end. They had a deep roster

Rogue is invulnerable can basically steal anyone of the Gold's powers. Plus as someone mentioned, Logan and Pyslocke are more likely to kill.
