I was already planning on putting a 1TB HDD into my PS4 at launch. I put a 500GB HDD in my PS3 and I'm still eating off that. Sony on some BS for not allowing external HDDs tho

swapping the internal HDD on the PS3 is dummyproof given you have the right type of HDD.

They still using that shyt where you can't have files over 4gigs on anything anyway so the external is useless regardless. You also won't be able to download/install any games to it either, so what's the point.

the 4GB limitation is due to the external HDD limitation of playstion only being able to see drives that are FAT32 format.

You still need to download the game..

I understand that. What I'm saying is the idea of "downloading a game" is much different from last gen.

Before you'd have to start the download and wait a long time to download/install the game. So it wasn't very practical to delete and redownload the games. Now that you can play while downloading its not really a problem to keep games stored in the cloud and then download them when you want to use them.

I just don't feel comfortable opening up my console to add/remove anything. USB is just too easy, why couldn't Sony just add this option and make it the best of both worlds?

piracy. xbox will have a gimped version of external storage because if they allowed people to store whatever the console will be hacked in a day.
