These morons were talkin about 100 million gamepass subs by 2030.

They gained 1 million in the last year and a quarter.

Currently at 35 million. PC players have spoken. They even Deebo'd the price increase on PC. And we know it ain't coming to PS or Switch.

So where are these increased subs going to come from?

Gotta stop leaving common sense out. Been saying this for a decade plus and been right. shyt ain't rocket science. The brand doesn't have any juice outside of the US. No one cares. Where are these extra subs gonna come from? Not even adding to the fact they keep upping the price.

Regardless, as GamePass is more popular than EVER and you physically see posters say they got Gamepass on PC. You have to wonder, does a tweet that has no credible source make more sense than your own understanding?

Yeah if this is truly something Xbox is treating as a generational shift, it could be good. They're talking a lot of talk right now. But if they're truly prepared to compete with Steam and revamp the entire XBOX PC experience, we could get something that is better than the Epic Games Store at least. They have the infrastructure to make it happen, but is the talent and commitment there? We don't know. All I know is when you come for the king you best not miss.

I always found it weird that they own Windows but never boosted its brand with PC gaming. Working with AMD vs Nvidia.. I mean Nvidia has gotten a little too big for its britches at this point. AMD can make some serious strides and get in places technologically that Nvidia probably thinks its too valuable for and really do some new things. Everyone involved here just has to really commit and bring in talented people that want the best for Xbox.

Competing with Steam its a fool's business, sure have a competent, functional store/launcher with all the features PC people are used to for people who want to use it but just let steam be, they gonna make money from their published games selling there just be happy with that.

For those who are not up on how Microsoft does with selling games? THey have basically copied the Steam model. I get emails for humble bundles (literally the same name and type of deals) Like 6 games for $10, you can make a donation for more if you care about the cause they slanging.
Most games are on sale at all times. I have to assume that people who don't use Xbox think games be full price most of the time not knowing shyt be half off in a month. So at the end of the day, I don't want STEAM to go anywhere. I want Xbox to be as good or better. And that will only keep STEAM on their toes as well so we all win as gamers as they vie for our attention

As for the ecosystem they are creating, its already a thing. I've already made it clear games are always on sale on xbox
I can't compare the prices but I'd assume if they truly wanna compete with steam then games will have to be similarly priced
A long time ago I was told how steam had humble bundles, now Xbox has that as well. We also have a bunch of niche/shytty PC titles that are ass cheeks taking up too much real estate in the new games section

I know you not an Xbox fan so you wouldn't really know what the marketplace is looking like. Its been steam like from a games standpoint for a while. Xbox is just making it so that anything made for "PC" means Xbox as well.

What franchises are you referring to exactly?

Halo, Forza Motorsport (not Horizon), and the smaller ones in the Rare area like BK, Perfect Dark.

Fortunately, all of the good experiences for them can be experienced on the One, and PC (to some extent), but the last releases like PD:Zero, Halo Infinite, and FM8 were beat with the cheap stick. So yay for backwards compat, but the future has been bleak because MS wants thrifty development cycles and having the title sell itself rather than a good package. 343i choking their golden goose and forcing an attempt at a rebrand for the studio. Chris Esaki selling CGI Forza Motorsport trailers and then immediately ducking once it got released. You know, both of them got the proverbial "10 Year Platform" nonsense...

And no, I don't care much for Sony stuff except Gran Turismo. MS has the franchises I want but they wanna sell poo coals in volume to consumers instead of fostering good development. But if those end up on PlayStation, might as well get one at some point in the future...
