I hear her saying that the 'Xbox Platform' won't be tied to a single store, not that the next 'console' will support multiple stores

we'll see I guess

The Xbox app on the new handheld consolidates games you own from different storefronts into a single library.

I would imagine that's their plan with the next console.

AMD is not Nvidia, but of course Nvidia costs more. I got my 5090 and it's murdering everything. I'll get the 6090 and water cool it. Consoles are so far behind Nvidia backed PCs it's crazy. I don't know what kind of deals AMD has with everybody, but if you are in the PC space, you know Nvidia is better. I don't respect it
My next pc is going to be crazy, now that I know that is what I'll be gaming on. When these nextgen consoles get their specs announced, I'm going to go crazy from there. I'm talking like 256gb of ram for example. It's going to cost but it is what it is. It's going to be stupid, I promise, lol.

a 'single library' on a Windows machine is just a bunch of shortcuts. not that different from the shortcut icons for games I own from different storefronts on my desktop, just more 'handheld friendly'

my reasons for doubting all this have to do with MS making a device that could potentially use none of their services. their digital storefront, and charging for online/subscription services, is their money maker. and if the solution is some kind of locked down PC, than that's just another console

maybe I'm wrong. time will tell. if MS moves away from charging for online, it will be interesting to see how Sony and Nintendo react

There's more integration than just shortcuts on a single interface.

I would imagine you would only pay subscription services for games on their platforms, while online for other launchers like Steam and Epic is free like they are on PC.

The same way you gotta pay a separate subscription to use GeForce Now, or play MMOs like FFXIV or ES Online on Steam.

how so? I assume Steam games still ultimately launch through Steam, for DRM purposes

That's what they're gonna show us with this new "Xbox Experience" app on the ROG devices.

Probably things like shared friends list and achievements by launcher.
